Having purchased watches as gifts for nephews,siblings and nieces when they finish Graduate School I am versed in the purchase of watches. This is a fine example of a classic style watch that is Timeless in design. (One of the big box clubs has this watch for 100 less then pictured here (which includes shipping) which is a Great deal. This watch comes with a 2 year warranty from Movado but only if you buy it from an authorized retailer that includes a stamped warranty card. Who knows if the deal you got on the front end is an authorized retailer ? That is the problem with some of those deals... Amazon is an authorized retailer . These same watches are also sold in the Fine Jewelry store section of Macy's so you can find them anywhere. Getting a battery installed is another matter. I would suggest that you go to a Movado store or take it to a jeweler ONLY if they carry the Movado brand. All these watch makers become picky if you have someone else handle the watch other then their "authorized service people" which is on the movado.com website.This watch style also comes with one that has diamonds on the face of the dial for 100 more.. which I feel is overkill. The watch as pictured has a mother of pearl dial which looks luminous in person . Just having a black & white picture above of this watch is no justice. This watch looks as good as any Longines Dolce Vita and is far easier to get service for in the USA. Where the Longines is easier to get service if you do a lot of travel overseas. The watch face is bright and easy to read in low light conditions; this is most likely a dress or formal watch and it contains 20 diamonds on each side of the bezel. Typical of other classic Movado's it has no designation for numerals; which adds to its classic look. Give it 4 stars.. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is cause UPS left this on my porch with no signature delivery? Huh? anyone could have picked up this box & walked away with it. A fine gift like this deserves SIGNATURE DELIVERY ONLY.
