Conn does a good job of tracing the evolving influence of developing anthropological thought. The Word of God never changes but the environment where it is communicated changes constantly and dramatically. This book identifies many of the factors that must be considered in faithful and relevant communication of the word in any culture. It is a worthy complement to Marvin Mayers' Christianity Confronts Culture.
