The video is presented by UK Psychiatrist Dr Darryl J Britto in a no-jargon layperson language style. It also discusses in detail the treatments options for Depression including Anti-Depressants, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (Talk Therapy) and Social Intervention.
It is hoped the viewer will gain a better understanding of the illness, seek treatments at an early stage in an energetic manner, and thereby improve prognosis (outcomes) and quality of life.

ABOUT DR BRITTO
Dr Britto has been accorded status as a Specialist in Psychiatry by the GMC under the European Specialist Qualifications Order 1995. He presently works as a Consultant Psychiatrist at three UK hospitals: The Cygnet Hospital Bierley, Bradford, West Yorkshire; The Huddersfield Nuffield Hospital; The Cygnet Hospital, Harrogate. He is also appointed as Force Consultant Psychiatrist to the Merseyside Constabulary in Liverpool, and a Consultant Clinical Adviser to StandardLife HealthCare UK. He was previously an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry , University of Leeds (UK) and Clinical Tutor in Psychiatry for the Halifax Hospitals appointed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London. Dr Britto is approved in England and Wales by the Secretary of State under Section (12) of the Mental health Act, 1983 in having special expertise and knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders.
