I use this product with a Vista x64 service pack 1 operating system on a Toshiba laptop. The product does have x64 bit drivers on the download site. Good news for those of us that have 64-bit systems; it also ships with 32-bit drivers. I use it as a third screen for my laptop. The first is the LCD on the laptop, the second comes from the laptop output, and the third is this USB device. It works great for word processing, spreadsheets, browsing the web, etc. However, you DO NOT want to use it with videos. The screen may not refresh at all with videos. I was watching a recorded slide presentation and although the speaker kept talking the slide never changed. As soon as a move the presentation video to another monitor, everything worked fine. Also, some rapidly changing content, like animations in web pages, operating system installation, etc. probably won't work well. So, this is really for productivity applications - scrolling through a Word document or Excel spreadsheet works just fine. Just don't expect to use it for video games, videos, animations, and sometimes if you have a lot on the screen, you can get some static display. Obviously wouldn't be good for watching the stock exchange or real-time data like that.
Update 2009.4.07 - Doesn't work on Windows 7 Beta very well. EVGA says they don't officially support Windows 7 yet, so you shouldn't expect that it will work at all. I was able to get it to actually display an image by using the Vista driver, but the mouse point often froze on the screen. I downloaded a new driver from EVGA and that one wouldn't let you install on Windows 7. I think they know there are problems. So, I have stopped using it until the Windows 7 driver comes out. Still, it worked well on Vista, with those cautions I wrote about previously. I am back to using my Matrox Dual Head 2 Go adapter Matrox D2GA2AIF DualHead2Go Analog Edition Display Duplexer for PC and Mac. That is working well, but since it takes multiple monitors and makes them a single monitor, it isn't the same as being able to have three totally independent displays - like I could with the EVGA. Also, there is a new model EVGA 100-U2-UV16-A1 UV Plus USB VGA Adapter for Multiple Displays Supporting Up to 1600x1200 Resolution (Black). Right now the reviews look pretty good. You might want to check that out.

Easy to set up and works well with my Samsung Monitor at 1400x900. Video's from the Internet run smoothly. No problems in the two weeks I've used it.

This is a wonderful product and it works very well. I am using it with my HP 1035NR netbook.
With the UV-16, I'm able to display an image on my 22" screen at full 1680x1050 resolution and the quality is excellent. However, be cautioned that it does not work well with Windows 7. I am able to get an image on the screen, but the performance is terrible (it's very jerky). I would expect this to be fixed with an updated driver.

Works better with Vista than Tritton,

Purchased this product from Frys after trying the more expensive Tritton SEE2 Xtreme product. First of all, Tritton provided absolutely ZERO customer service, all the while referring to their FAQs which basically pointed to re-installation as their only troubleshooting technique. The EVGA UV Plus+ UV-12 device worked directly out of the box, with no issues on Windows Vista Business 32-bit on a Lenovo T61 laptop. Just like the reviewer below, I am also using it as a 3rd monitor, with the VGA out from the laptop itself as the 2nd monitor, and the laptop display as the primary. I tested the streaming video capabilities on the monitor connected to the EVGA UV-12, watching videos from YouTube and Hulu and it worked seamlessly with no hiccups. I recommend EVGA's product over Tritton and their non-responsive customer service.

I bought this device to adapt a new Toshiba laptop running 32-bit windows to the two monitors I was running with my previous computer. It intermittently (sometimes frequently) crashes Windows, and tech support has no suggestions beyond reloading the drivers. To add insult to injury, they spam me every week now. This product has wasted my time and money.

This unit is great, I have purchased three of them and could not be happier. The instruction are complete and with little effort things are up and running with two monitors. You don't need two vidio cards and this really is nice with laptops that usually have dual monitor capabilities and I run Three on my laptop and find it excellent when using several programs. A must have for the geek in all of us 8-)

I had a pain in the neck situation due to my Graphic card not supporting my Wacom Cintiq graphic tablet,I really needed some solution and I found EVGA plus I bought it fingers crossed and Iam glad to say it was well worth Each buck. The EVGA plus is Easy to install but you must get your updated drivers before hand from EVGAs Website. Also you must have appropriate connectors to connect your monitor/tv to EVGA+. it has a dvi port so accordingly you must have a dvi male to whatever vga or hdmi. The video quality you will get is pretty good Not excellent but good basicly it there is nothing much to say it does what it says it can...one thing it has preset resolutions so it might not be the native resolution of you monitor so you may lose some resolution that you monitor might support..and sometimes it may be a bit hectic to set up the display..but all in all a great product

I was looking for an inexpensive way to add a third display to my laptop. This is definitely it!
Add the drivers and plug it into any USB port and it's ready to drive your TV, display, or projector. (If you have a big screen HDTV, this will drive it.) I had no trouble loading the drivers or getting my third screen up and running. The laptop screen is #1, The display attached to the video output on the back of the laptop is #2. The EVGA 100 drives my #3 display through a USB port. You can attach up to 6 of these modules to a USB hub attached to your computer to create a truly AWSOME display array. Technically they're good but can't compete with the #1 display for gaming. The display update is surprisingly fast but the USB port is a serial serial device and it takes a few milliseconds to update. Normally that's not noticeable, but in an intense gaming situation it might be. Be aware that the display doesn't come on until your desktop is up. You still need a main display. I have 3 side-by-side screens with one desktop picture across all 3. For that you need to find a picture thats wide enough and set your desktop properties to "tile". Using "stretch" or "center" will put your picture on each of the screens instead of across all 3 (or 2, or more). For Windows goto "Start", Control Panel", "Display", and click on the "DeskTop" tab to get to the display properties.

Hardware interrupts causing problem,

This review is from: EVGA 100-U2-UV12-A1 UV Plus USB VGA Adapter for Multiple Displays Supporting Up to 1400x1050 Resolution (White) (Personal Computers)
I was happy with the product at first. It installed very easily, and worked as advertised. Video performance on the second screen was not bad. However, I then noticed that the performance of computer was degrading. I discovered that my CPU was running unusually high (about 30%) without doing anything and video became choppy, and audio crackled. I did some investigation and found out that a few minutes after using the UV12 (e.g. a few minutes after a system reboot), the CPU use would start to get higher. Further investigation using Process Explorer (downloadable here: [..] reveals that it was "hardware interrupt" that's eating up CPU resource.
I emailed EVGA's support but they only suggested using the latest driver. I was already using the latest driver, so that's not the problem. I can't use this device now.

I have been looking for a way to attach second monitor to my ThinkPad Z61 with integrated graphics. This device fits the bill perfectly. It works straight out of the box. Just install its excellent driver and attach it. The only downside I experienced is that, from time to time, it was very slow when the Vista Aero was turned on. I guess it is up to the USB connection speed. It works flawlessly when Aero is turned off. Great little device. Highly recommended.
