4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Motherboard
Good motherboard. System booted on first try. Ok board for 2 card sli, but if you're doing tri-sli should get a true enthusiast board (like the classified for bandwidth reasons). Able to overclock, but not as many options as some other boards (again look to the classified if you like doing lots of tweaking for overclocking).
The major negatives are "the only 2"...

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Mobo after 1yr
Motherboard worked fine for about a year, now it's proven to be faulty. Will add more to the review later.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Motherboard, July 21, 2009
This review is from: EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR X58 SLI Mainboard (Personal Computers)
Good motherboard. System booted on first try. Ok board for 2 card sli, but if you're doing tri-sli should get a true enthusiast board (like the classified for bandwidth reasons). Able to overclock, but not as many options as some other boards (again look to the classified if you like doing lots of tweaking for overclocking).
The major negatives are "the only 2" year warranty (other evga boards have lifetime) and the northbridge gets hot. The northbridge goes to mid 60c which is ok but some boards are cooler and some have active cooling. i added a system fan blowing over the motherboard and that helps.

Pros:
- it works!
- board is solidly constructed
- led display has error codes and displays cpu temperature
- on board power, reset buttons
- black motherboard looks cool!
Cons:
- hot northbridge (lots of mb's have this issue though)
- 2yr warranty

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Motherboard, February 25, 2010

I wanted to buy an x58 motherboard and first purchased a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R LGA but found that it had memory compatibility issues. I returned it and purchased the EVGA board and have found it to be everything that I had hoped for. I installed an i7 950 and a 6GB kit of OCZ3X1600R2LV6GK memory, loaded Win7 Ult.. It has worked flawlessly so far and the windows performance evaluation ranks cpu perf. @ 7.5 and memory @ 7.8 (not overclocked). I'm a very happy EVGA & Amazon customer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great no nonsense board, February 22, 2010

I chose this board over the SLI TR or A1 for cost. I didn't want IDE or Floppy support as I was going to use SATA exclusively. I also didn't mind that there was no IEEE 1394 on the back panel as my case has it on the FP and it's easier to connect my video camera to without having to dig behind the computer.

The board was easy to install and setup. No problems with the drivers. The EVGA E-Leet is just CPUID so it's something most builders are used to. I do love the post LED and it's nice to see a CMOS reset on the back panel. No more having to open the case and screw around with jumpers.

I don't mind that there is no active cooling for the Northbridge as I was building a quiet computer and those small fans tend to make a lot of noise when they start to wear out.

I'm using a Swiftech H20-220 Ultima with an Apogee XT water block and it was easy to install on the board. Overall no complaints. I haven't bothered to overclock the computer any as it hasn't been running for more then 3 days now. What I have seen of the Bios it's fairly intuitive if you know you're way around other Bios.

The only downside I can think of is the 2 year warranty instead of the lifetime the A1's have. But then it doesn't cost nearly as much as an A1. Not to mention, I trust EVGA and now Foxconn as they make the board for EVGA. 2 years should be long enough to know if the board is going to last.

The other slight annoyance is that the PCI-E 1x sits below the PCI-E 16x which means if you have a double slot card, it will cover the 1x which forces you to use the 4x below. I don't get why EVGA/Foxconn bothered adding a PCI slot. I would have rather seen a PCI-E 1x then a PCI slot but it's not a big deal.

Oh, I did have problem area. Mounting the board takes a little force as the back plate has foam insulator and you need to squish the foam to line up the holes. This really isn't a problem as I like the firm fit but it's worth noting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for X58/Core i7 builds, August 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR X58 SLI Mainboard (Personal Computers)
Bought this item as part of a custom built Intel Core i7 Processor i7-920 2.66GHz 8 MB LGA1366 CPU BX80601920 system with OCZ OCZ3P1333LV3GK DDR3 PC3-10666 1333 MHz 3GB Platinum XTC Triple Channel Kits for memory. Snapped right into the case with no problems. Used this item (EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR X58 SLI Mainboard) in this build inside the 10-Bay ATX Computer Case with 550W PSU & 9.84-Inch Blue LED Fan.

Great motherboard with all the things you really need ready to go. If you haven't built a computer in awhile *beware* about the newer CPU power cables and SATA connectors. There's the big power connector for the motherboard but there's also an 8-pin connector next to the CPU. Make sure your case has the power supply for it! I also was hoping to reuse a DVD drive but the motherboard doesn't have IDE cables, just SATA connectors. The CPU cover to hold the CPU in place feels *VERY HARD TO CLOSE* and you may be concerned that you'll break it... you probably won't even though you're probably sweating as you bend that bar to hold the CPU down. All around great for the price and features.

Well worth the money, with the great look and cool features, I fully support this board. Like most have said, the northbridge gets hot (60 degrees on bios) and it lacks IDE (Though at tiger direct I got an ide to sata converter for 4 bucks.). Im using this motherboard, an i7 920, a geforce 8400 gs temporaraly, a coolermaster 690 nvidia edition case, a ultra 600w psu, ocz 1600mhz tri channel memory, and some componants from my old pc like the dvd drive and hard drive.

5.0 out of 5 stars just awsome, September 12, 2009

So Iv had this for abit over 16months now and its still a great mobo. I have had no real big issues.
It has a very solid construction, i probably removed and resinked the cpu half a dozen times putting on testing different coolers. Removed everything a few times to swap the case, and to clean everything, still no problems!

the only few problems I had were from the north bridge. It runs abit hot while overclocked. I put in a 120mm fan on the side of the case to draw in cold air to blow right on top of it to sort of cool it down.

3.0 out of 5 stars Generally good, but a couple of design flaws, July 27, 2009

If you're looking for a three-way SLI capable board, this is a reasonably-priced choice. It comes with plenty of USB and SATA ports as well as 6 DIMM slots. Setup was easy. However, I have 2 complaints (-1 star for each):
1) The onboard SATA connectors point in the plane of and away from the board. Unless you have a very deep case, making connections is a tight squeeze - especially after you install 1 or more video cards.
2) There is one standard PCI slot, and the header for connecting external audio is directly between it and the back of the case. This makes the slot nearly useless. What were they thinking?

Great Mobo Excelete response overlocking really complain because I just do not wear at least 2 slots x16, do not give 5 stars just for that and for not giving or not supported on whether it can do crossfire, along with not understanding how can make another slot with x8 SLI or half the bandwidth, but for now does not affect me because I have a single ati 4870, if they buy on top of these details are not lost.
