No HDCP!,

I just called EVGA and was able to confirm that they've really hid the ball on this one -- it's NOT HDCP enabled (and there's no way to find it out from their Web site, manuals or spec sheets). What this means is that any protected content (e.g., Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, Vista HD video, etc.) will not play through this card and you'll get a blank screen. It basically moots one of the core functionalities of this chipset, that it offloads H.264 video processing from the CPU onto the video card.

This plays Team Fortress 2, Half Life 2, portal etc at 45fps with all the settings turned up to high @ 1280x1024. Once you're in the game you can't really tell the difference between 30 and 120fps anyways so this is a great card. It plays Bioshock at 35fps @ 1024x768. I'm using a core 2 duo 2.2ghz with 2GB of ram, which is way more processor than I need for these games. If you don't need 1600x1200 @ 120fps this should be just fine for your needs. Also it supports directX 10, but if you're playing games you're probably not running Vista, which needs it to use DX10. But it's there if you need it 10 years down the road.

This little beast packs a punch. On my rig (3.0 Ghz AMD 64 X2 6000+, 3 GB of ram, Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit) it works very well. Before, I was using integrated graphics and could not do anything related to video games. Now I can run most games on high settings and even new ones run well. Dragon Age Origins works very well on medium settings at full res for me 1440x900. The dual monitor feature is excellent too. Small quirp is that the card goes loud when on serious gaming sessions but that's to be expected.

The seller was pretty awesome and got me this thing in like 3 days.
I bought this for gaming. I had a lot of games on Steam and such that I played on my old 6600GT. I then got a new PC and was stuck with onboard for a while. The card can run pretty much anything that's out right now, but for stuff like Crysis you might wanna run it at lower resolutions and with medium-high settings. It's obviously not an 8800GT but it gets the job more than done. No complaints. It got pretty hot the first day I used it but after that I didn't notice anything. *Knock on wood* Monitor displays things with higher quality. Has PhysX support which is cool. I don't really know what else to say. It performs well enough. I ran Left 4 Dead at 60+ fps even with hoards at 1440x900, everything high except AA. If you just want a nice card but don't want to shell out the big bucks for a 295 GTX or something, I recommend this.

Needed for dual video output. This card has done the job without any problems.

OK, this card works, and is worth about what you pay for it. However....I think I learned a lesson. Others have made similar comments, but I had to learn by doing. The lesson is this: Don't expect this card to make your single-core econo-model PC into a game/graphics demon. It will make your display smoother and make it possible to run some graphic-intensive games. In the process, it will push the power supply to the max, and you'll discover other bottlenecks such as disc and memory i/o. In retrospect, I'd have been better off to put the cash towards a higher-end PC.

Sorry I can not give it 0 stars...,

This card is worthless if you want to play DVD's on your computer. I installed it and it worked with videos on the Internet but when I went to play DVD's. It didn't worked. I called their customer service and after many attempts to fix the problem, they tell me that this card might be incompatible with XP or maybe Windows Media play or maybe Real Player and maybe all the other DVD players that I tried. So I have to honestly say buy this card at your own risk.

This card makes COD 4 look much better, although it won't run it smoothly with everything turned on. This was the best I could do without also replacing my power supply. All in all I am happy with the purchase.

Good card, but I thought it would be better,

I bought this card after I got the Battlefield 2 collection and I also needed it for Battlefield 1942. Obviousely this card blows BF 1942 away, but in BF 2 I can only put the graphics on medium ( then again I only have 1gb ram and 3.0 ghz pent4). Anyway, i am still pleased, the fan is quiet (i heard the xfx fan is loud) also it supports DX 10 for the future. i recomend this card or the step up 8600GTS.

I bought this card some time ago, and i cannot believe the performance improvement i have got, having only a computer worth $200 (Athlon 64 3400+, 1gig DDR ram, 450W PS,DVD+R burner,250Gig PATA hard drive) I was able to play Crysis, and Unreal Tournamnet at medium. Once i made a little upgrade (Athlon 5600+, 2 Gig DDR2, GA-MA78M-S2H)for about $200, i was able to play Crysis with all setting to medium and UT3 with all settings to High, i have made computers using the 8500 gt for my relatives and i know that there is no comparison with this video card.
