I'm upgrading a dell dimension 2400 for a friend. Added memory, a hard drive and this video card. Loaded call of duty, battlefield 1942 and typhoon rising and they work well and look great considering it is a pci card. The setup on Typhoon Rising put all graphic options near the top settings and it looks great. Pleasantly suprised with the performance and love the price. Handles directx 9 and t&l.

good card for the money!,

I had this card pre-installed on my old Dell and it worked great. I was thinking of getting this for my gateway as well. The only thing is that it doesnt handle graphics from like splinter cell very well. It runs very slow when youre in very well lit areas. I had 512mb ram on the old computer so maybe that was the cause. At any rate, this is the one to go for!

I bought this adapter to run a new 22" LCD monitor with a 3 year old Dell Dimension 2400. I am running the monitor with the digital (DVI) connection at 1680x1050. Here's what worked for me to install this card:
I did not change anything in the Dell's BIOS; it was set to Auto in the graphics options. In Windows XP, go to the control panel and disable (don't uninstall!) the Intel onboard graphics. Do not restart, but rather shut down the computer. Install the new video card and plug in the monitor to the new card. Turn on the computer. Install the driver on the install disk. This driver only seems to run the monitor at only 1280x960 resolution over the DVI port, but will run at full 1680x1050 using the DVI to analog converter supplied with the card. I went to the Nvidia site (not the eVGA site) and downloaded the 93.71_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe driver. I had to uninstall the previous version, so maybe it is best to not to install the driver on the install disk, but that's what I did! I created a custom timing for 1680x1050 resolution for my particular monitor in the NVIDIA control panel. Choose the "Treat as HDTV" and "Allow modes not exposed by display" check boxes, and create a custom timing for the monitor that works. Refer to the user's guide for the monitor; it lists the values that you would need. It is more than likely that the Auto or one of the pre-selected schemes will work for the monitor that you have. Good Luck, but it seems to work just fine with a 22" widescreen over DVI, with the new drivers. If you're running analog, it will work out of the box with the supplied drivers.

Excellent PCI Card,

My Dell, purchased in 2002, does not have an AGP slot, so I needed a PCI card to run Star Wars Lego PC game. The card was easy to install. I had to disable the on-board graphics card before this one would work, but it was very easy (in fact the very first FAQ answered how to disable the on-board card) Game works great, no performance issues. I am running a 1.8ghz Pentium 4 with 512MB RAM. I am very pleased with this $59.99 purchase. I would have rather purchased a 256MB AGP card for the same price or less, but it was not an option with my PC.

Card works perfectly. Even though the package says that the PC should have a 250 watt power supply, it worked in my Dell Dimension 2400 PC which has only a 200 watt power supply. The installation was quite easy, the only tricky part was turning off the on-board video controller built into my PC. You will have to do this step only if you are replacing an on-board video controller that came built into your PC motherboard with this video card. Since the directions for turning off the on-board video controller are different for each PC brand and model, this step can require a bit of searching around in the PC documentation or online (in my case, it was both).
My primary motivation for upgrading my old PC to this video card was this card's compatibility with Windows Vista's new Aero interface. I haven't upgraded to Vista yet but at least on paper this video card is compatible with the new Vista Aero interface.

It just works! I needed a now "older-style" standard PCI video card, and this fit the bill. Card has only a DVI port and S-video out, but comes with a few extras: a DVI-VGA converter (allowing you to plug in a standard VGA monitor) and an S-video cable. This card is also a half-height, so will work in a low profile PC. It comes with the standard full-size bracket but also includes the half-height bracket. A great no-frills card at a great price.

Bought this 2 years ago. Within the warranty period, the DVI port went out. I RMA'ed it, and received a new card. Again the DVI port failed, but this time it was out of the warranty window so I was out of luck. Tried to contact eVGA customer support to no avail. In brief, it worked fine for most purposes, and I seemed to have no problem with processing RAW images. But don't count on the DVI port to be around for long.

The e-GeForce FX 5200 128MB GPU was an upgrade made to an older Dell Dimonsion 4600 machine with minimum graphics capabilities since the original purchase. The increased graphics capabilities provided support for larger monitors at higher resolution and was certainly worth the meager price to upgrade.

I bought this product for a windows media center pc I put together in a low-profile case. My tv is DVI-D, so this was perfect, and the low-profile bracket was included in the box, I just swapped it, installed it, and got the latest drivers online, works perfect for what I needed it for.
