OK I got this card to replace my EVGA GTS 250. That card had two problems, but this review isn't about that card.

The main thing that makes me excited about this card is playing Skryim. I just installed the card this morning and so far I'm impressed. Obviously it handles vanilla Skyrim with all settings on Ultra like a dream. But I just installed Boris Vorontsov's ENB and the game still runs very well. I'm quite pleased with that. I had around 40 fps after the ENB, and I was using a VDGG preset from the Nexus. FPS never dipped below 30. Note that my computer is an Intel i7 quad core with 24GB of RAM installed, running Win 7 64bit.

So far the only other game I've tried was Arma II, and it was great with that as well, all settings as high as possible.

The card is very quiet. Haven't heard so much as a whisper of fan noise from it. That's one of the reasons I wanted a new card in the first place, so this is great.

The price is great too, a lot of high-end graphics cards will cost you a lot more, and I don't know where this technically falls on the spectrum of cards, but for my purposes it's amazing.

I purchased this card for a close online friend as they were using integrated graphics from a store-bought PC. (Yeah, I felt sorry too). Knowing that the default 200-300W power supply wouldn't hold up, I picked up a 700W Raidmax to pair this with.

Well, I must say that they're pretty satisfied with the overall of it. I haven't gathered too much deep details from them, but I thought I'd share what I know. The FPS in-game stays consistent and doesn't really have an issue. One thing to note when doing upgrades like these, make sure that there are no other bottlenecks that will make it seem like the card isn't what it is.

EVGA has been a great company in the past and they're still my first choice for Motherboards and Graphics Cards. 192-bit isn't as ideal as the 256, but the price jump between the two wasn't worth it. This card will handle quite the load without any excessively loud noises or problems. Rebate and all, this has to be the best you can get for the $150 price range.

Well, I didn't have the money for a top-of-the-line card like I hoped, but this was literally the best card I could find for the money I had. If I had more money, I'd consider exchanging this one for another, but I'm content with it as it is.

The only problem that I've found is that it gets really hot when playing games on their max setting - Far Cry 3 makes it almost too hot to touch. This probably isn't *too* bad, but it still concerns me a bit.

I play Far Cry 3, Battlefield 3, Skyrim (with several graphic-heavy mods installed, luv me dem trees), and Minecraft with GLSL Shaders installed (example: [...]) all with their max settings and the results are amazing - excellent framerate, no lag whatsoever (alt-tabbing with Far Cry 3 does cause it to lag but I doubt that's related to the card itself), and an overall awesome gaming experience.

9/10 - would recommend to anyone, only problem is heating which may not even be a real issue.

No problems with the install, works great so far, fewer updates than AMD.

Runs (on my machine) Skyrim on max settings with high resolution textures. Haven't had an issue with any other games yet.

So, I have been holding out on swapping out my GTX 285 forever.. I have been hoping to pull the series on a similar 85/95 series card but in the current gen. However, mine was starting to give up the ghost, requring me to throttle down game graphics just to get it to stay stable.. Now I got things all turned back up, and driving 1080p just fine. Just be realistic of the expectations. Also plan ahead, only *ONE* analog compatible port, for use with VGA based displays.... I had to wind up buying a new monitor, due to my fairly old displays I had.

One minor issue, when windows does it's UAC screen goes black thing, it sometimes causes my display to not want to re-initalize at times. It will say signal out of range, and refuse to come back.

This could be a display issue, or a card issue. Not sure which, and it's minor, so I don't care.... But if your mega picky, I haven't pointed down the issue. (note it's using the HDMI, I could troubleshoot with DVI and see if it changes anything, but I haven't gotten there yet.... LOL

Hi Allyn,

First of all, thanks for your review. I'm glad to hear that your 650Ti Boost is working well for you.

My customer support guys noted that HDMI can have handshake issues between the card and your display for various reasons (signal noise, long cables, loose connection, etc). I would give the DVI or DisplayPort (if your monitor supports it) a shot and see if that solves your problem. HDMI has been finicky for me personally as well, and switching to DVI solved my issues.

Thanks again for your review, and thanks for being an EVGA customer.

It's a thrifty little beast that allows me to max most games on my 1080p 1920x1080 23" display and also handles my dual monitor config without a hitch. I plan to buy a second one for a SLI configuration soon enough. Buy it, brotato.
