I purchased this card to install in my home theater PC. The machine is going on 5 years old now. The motherboard in it has built in HDMI which I used to push HD video to my TV all that time. A problem arose when I installed a Blu-Ray player; the built in HDMI plug wasn't HDCP (high definition copy protocol) compliant so Blu-Ray discs would not play.

The rest of the computer is working great for my needs still, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money upgrading it. So, instead, I picked up this card and dropped it in to the PCIe slot, installed the drivers, and viola I could now watch Blu-Rays over this cards HDMI port.

Can't speak to any ability for this to play games as I only use my HTPC for DVDs, Blu-Rays, and online video streaming all of which it does with ease. The rest of the machine has the following:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ stock 2.4GHZ
4GB DDR2 800
ABIT Fatal1ty mini-ATX
Samsung Blu-Ray combo drive
Antec Silver media center case
Windows 7 Home Premium

I'm not a tech guy, just a guy with a computer. I'm running an HP Slimline in a hot, dusty environment. The fan bearings in three GeForce 210's have all given out on me in a matter of months. So I decided to go passive.

I tried two of these cards from EVGA. Both handled HD video just fine. But within 45 minutes, both cards gave out from the heat. So I switched chipsets. Now running the Asus ATI 5450 (passive/fanless). After over 24 hours of continuous HD video, I finally think I've got a graphics card I can live with.

These cards might be fine for most applications. But if you're running an HP Slimline - or running a computer in a hot environment - I would go with the ATI.

The last card I had, the 8400, lasted two years, and that's good considering all the use it gave me. The 210 is definitely an improvement. I can say with no doubt that I now have better definition on my HD monitors. They are the same monitors and the whole system is the same, so the 210 shows a significant upgrade.

It was easy to install the card in the box and install the drivers with the CD. I had to set up my monitors to the 16:9 configuration because upon installing this card, the monitors defaulted to 4:3 (small squared-shape screen).

Considering the value, I would not hesistate to upgrade to this 210 card even if your old card is still working.

I should have done my homework on this purchase. I thought this would enable me to play a couple low graphic intensive games on my work machine, but this is really no improvement upon my integrated graphics. Everything I have tried is still unplayable... I did get a secondary monitor output, but that's the only thing it is good for...

I didn't expect to be playing Battlefield 3 or Crysis or anything, but it won't even play the simple non-graphic intensive strategy games I like.. :-(

I purchased this video card for my son's PC when we upgraded his processor and motherboard. The card was priced right and appeared to have all the necessary qualifications to run his games. The card installed easily, the drivers were updated, and my son is happy with his new PC and video games. Certainly the more pricer cards may give better performance, but this unit has fit the bill for our case.

Needed a video card that was compatible with small form factor PC's and this guy did the trick! HDMI to TV's is now not an issue at all.

Had an older homebuilt PC with an ASUS m/b. Needed HDMI output to make a media PC. This one fit well in my compact case. Got latest drivers and works fine with Win 8.1. I have not noticed any heat issues but I don't push it with high output games either.
