EVGA is one of those brands that you just come to trust to provide you with quality products. The nVidia chipset they used on this is decent enough and I have no complaints with the actual performance graphics-wise. For those that use Windows Experience Index as a barometer:

WEI = 6.7

The reason I knocked 2 stars off is because of the fan. Really, it's the fan's wire. The wire is positioned such that only 1mm separates the wire from the fan. So what happens? The fan spins and hits the wire at ~1500-2000 rpm, causing it to be extremely loud. I tried re-positioning the wire against the adjacent capacitor on the board, but that only worked for 10 minutes. I decided to fix the problem by just disconnecting the 2-pin fan connector. The temps are hovering around 51 degrees Celsius with the fan disconnected and very low loads. With the fan on, however, the temps were a brisk 31-33 degrees Celsius.

EVGA, you guys are great, but where's the quality control on this one?

Hope this helps for any prospective buyers.

BTW, this is not 28nm Kepler technology. You must get GT 640 or higher to have that.

The GT630 is a rebadged 440. The 440 seems to cost more on Amazon so the 630 is the way to go. The card doesn't need more power than can be gained through the PCI Express slot, so no power supply upgrade needed etc. The card itself performs much better than I expected it to. Drivers are of course on point. I can't say the 630 blew me away, I knew it would run some games, but this card is just a really amazing value right now for a low end system running old and new games. Worst case scenario, you will have to lower some settings to get yourself over the 30fps edge on later games. This card is an uh-mazing value and EVGA is a terrific group to get video cards from.

It made a great replacement for my GeForce 7350 LE 128mb & GeForce 8400 GS 512mb.

I purchased the EVGA GT 630 to replace a EVGA Geforce 9800 GTX card that failed in a very subtle fashion (i.e. just the graphics processor function stopped working, VGA worked just fine, and failed to sleep according to the power plan). So far, the card has been a very good replacement. I am not a hard core, overclocking gamer but enjoy playing a little BioShock, Mass Effect, Left 4 Dead 2, Half Life 2 and Portal 1/2 on my home built PC.

My Windows Experience Index score for graphics was 7 on the 9800 GTX, this GT 630 card clocked in at 6.7.
So far, I do not see any appreciable difference in my very moderate and casual game play. I am confident in the card and the brand.

I am pleased. So far, it is has been a very good value.

I will updated my review as necessary.

I have had a 7000 series and a 9500 GT before the GT 630. I put together my own system and my 9500gt fan went out. Since it was the holidays and I didn't want a project I just went ahead and bought the GT 630 and will resurrect the old card for another machine later.

I am not a gamer and some have said this in not the best choice for video games; that said, this is the first budget card I have had that will run the nVidia Human Head Demo smoothly which among other things I use a benchmark. My main need for the unit is to push two 25 inch monitors in a dual dvi configuration. I am a power surfer and a researcher. I also watch a lot of movies on Netflix and rent DVDs and Blu-ray disks as well. This card supports all of that well.

As another commenter said this card will raise The Windows Experience Video Score and is the first low end card I have seen that will do that. My 9500gt got a WEI of 4.5 and the on board Radeon ATI 3000 got a 4.6. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. With the GT 630 I posted a 6.2 in both Desktop Performance and Aero with the same in 3D Business and Gaming Graphics. I can prove, through benchmarks, the efficacy of the 3D Business and Gaming Graphics but the Aero score is rather nebulous in terms of being able to point to anything concrete in terms of performance. By the way these scores are not held in real high regards by some serious tweakers but I just thought I would pass the info along, especially since it supports what another commenter said.

Update: After I corrected a bone-head move (I failed to switch the Bios from onboard to video card) my WEI video scores went up to 6.7

For a cheap card, I wasn't expecting much from this. It was only meant for my DELL 330 in the living room (movies, internet, Youtube, etc). I decided to try running Borderlands 2 on this card and was amazed the game actually ran on medium settings in 1920x1080 and ran smoothly! (Please note: I have upgraded the system specs otherwise) I also didn't need to upgrade my 300W PSU to use it. Great card for an HTPC or lower end to mid-range machine.

DELL 330 Specs:
Quad core 2.6Ghz Intel 9650 chip ('older' quad core)
4GB RAM
Intel 330 SSD
EVGA GT 630

So much better than the integrated Nvidia chipset. Much more detailed and beautiful scenes for games. I recommend EVGA as top notch.
