Plenty of USB 2 and 3 ports to use. Came with a LGA 1366 back plate for my Heat Killer 3.0 waterblock. Two 8 pin power supply for extra power to the MB, makes overclocking very easy Toggle switch to disable pciex lanes when if they are not populated. Extra 6 pin power for power hungry pciex x 16 video cards. Bios is wonderfull and stable, and there is much more to this motherboard.

The eVGA item I purchased was a refurb, but that was my call. This is a system upgrade from my old corei7 920 Gigabyte x58 Extreme DDR3 20gb 1600mhz to an corei7 3970x eVGA x79 Dark DDR3 16gb 2666mhz. The performance difference is very noticeable as evident in the windows 7 rating index going from a 7.5 to a 7.8 with no bios or system tweaks (I can easy max a 7.9, just haven't had the time to tweak). My only reverent is with the boards color scheme, red and black is not my color, but blue and black/silver is. Interesting I bring this up as the l.e.d lighting in my case was all blue (loved), now is like looking through an old pair of red and blue 3D glasses @_@, different. I initially I had problem removing the back plate nearly breaking the board, but after a call realized I had to unscrew the CPU chip holder to replace the backplate (rookie mistake). After about two hours of constructing and deconstructing the system (have a long night), I can say for a fact that I am impress with this board performs. The PCI Express 3.0 slot is a great benefit for my 7970 playing Skyrim, I am now able to play with anti-lacing 4 or 8 sampling and anisotropic filtering at 12 to 16. Too those that are familiar with Skyrim's graphical setting and impact this has on the game's performance will know why this is a big deal. Having the option to upgrade from my now Sandy bridge to an Ivy bridge later down the road is a definitely a plus. The only gripe and I mean gripe I have with this board is the fact the 24volt pin to power the motherboard is 90 degrees right, this was, is and continue to be a pain in the rear end. That's why earlier in this review I say it took me about two hours of constructing and deconstructing my system to fit this board, very annoying.Read more ›

Performs exactly as expected, I've yet to be disappointed by an EVGA product. It is also nice to see them finally offer a motherboard where the BIOS has mouse drivers and drop down menus.

Word of caution for those using multiple graphics cards: there is a pci-e slot order, similar to the way RAM slots are ordered.

This is not my first custom rig, nor my last, but it could be my last EVGA board. While I got some good support from the EVGA team, the reliability of the board out of the box has been questionable at best. I am now onto my 3rd board replacement in the space of a month and have spent probably 5 hours in total on with EVGA. I haven't even started to overclock yet because I have been trying to get the thing stable, but the first board I received was INOP, the second board which I am using now has USB port issues so I just requested a 3rd replacement.

It's possible that I just had some bad boards mailed to me. But this is the reason for my 2 stars. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

The UI on the BIOS is as everyone claims, just great and the design of the board itself very well thought through.

One very important point though: IF you are thinking of simply upgrading your board and keeping your current OS (Say Windows 7), think again, because this will not work. With this board and CPU, you need to do a clean install.

The SATA 3 ports did not work out of the box. After fiddling around with it for an hour and half, I decided to switch over the drive to my SATA 2 port. It finally detected and allowed me to install windows on my SSD. The boot menu in bios is awkward at times, otherwise its livable.

Honestly, this is the first time I have been this frustrated with a motherboard. I normally stick with EVGA as I have no problems with their other components and RMA/ support is great.

Dear Grigor Panosyan,
I am sorry to hear you are having troubles with the Sata3 port. To ensure your SSD is being detected properly, I would recommend plugging it in to the top Sata3 ports and then check to see if BIOS is detecting the device. If it is you should be able to boot up just fine, load into Windows and run at the Sata3 speeds. If not the boot priority may not be setup correctly, you can press F7 at startup and force boot off the SSD. If force booting works a simple adjustment to the Boot priority should resolve your Sata3 issues. In BIOS select the Boot tab and the options will be there to make your adjustments. I do understand migrating to a GUI BIOS can be confusing and we do try and make it as clear as possible. We do have an updated guide which has explains the BIOS in more detail and can be found here: http://www.evga.com/support/manuals/files/BIOS/150-SE-E789_BIOS_Guide.pdf. If you need further assistance with troubleshooting or have questions please contact our 24/7 support at 888.881.3842 and options 1.
Sincerely,

With the 2.10 (or the latest 2.11) BIOS, this board is now rock solid. Yes it took several iterations but finally the board is great for OC and the interface is really clean. The placement of connectors are well thought out. Only wish that it would be longer so 3-way SLI will not interfere with the USB plugs at the bottom of the board.

A few months after having this MOBO, the USB connections are starting to fail. Sometimes when certain USB ports are occupied, others decide not to work. It's very strange and becoming quite the nuisance.
