You may all know this card already! the GF104 model Fermi GPU Card.

2.0 out of 5 stars 1/2. Good
Piece of junk as only one dvi port works and the other one gives a pink tinted screen.
My son told me this after the return date had passed.
I will get an ATI gpu card next time

You may all know this card already! the GF104 model Fermi GPU Card.

This card runs VERY COOL! with a/c it idles around 28C and under load the highest i saw was 61C that was in METRO 2033 on high and tessellation. (Could run on max everything but was at 18fps on current settings i get 40fps and up)

I have this on a P5Q-E mobo, E8400 and 4GB DDR2 RAM so the rest of the system is a bottleneck!

3dmark06 did not skyrocket but in DX11 applications it was very noticeable.

This replaces a 9800GTX+ which just mysteriously stop outputting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Card for a Great Price, November 25, 2010

To reiterate some of the other comments, for the price (currently 199$), this card cannot be beat. It runs very cool, relatively quietly, and if you are a serious gamer that doesn't have an insane budget (say for two of these) then you'll be very happy with this purchase. I upgraded 3 months ago and I haven't had a problem yet. The fact that the card is SLI ready and with a lifetime warranty means this a card will last me for a VERY long time.

*The only negatives I can mention are that (1) if you aren't used to one of the GTX models they can be very large compared to some lower end graphics cards. Just make sure that you have plenty of room on the motherboard. And (2) the card requires a 450W (12V) power supply with either two 6-pin connectors or four 4-Pin Peripheral Connectors to connect to the adapters. I found:

Diablotek 450-Watt ATX Power Supply PHD450

to be the cheapest (but very nice) PS with all of the plugs and power I needed for the card. Not really a negative of the card, but it isn't mentioned here (except that the adapters come with the card...).*

Video card works great out of the box. Included was a driver CD which included a OC'ing utility and some others, and all the cables you should require to start er' up! Here are some points about this card:

1. Runs about 35 degrees Celsius idle in windows with the fan turned to the lowest setting (stock).

2. EVGA gives you a awesome overclocking program which allows you to control all 3 clock speeds (core/memory/shader) and the fan speed. Works very well.

3. Comes with a lifetime warranty. Very nice to have (although I've never had a problem before, its a comfort factor I suppose!)

4. Fan can be a bit noisy on it's highest setting... of course you should expect that when overclocking -- but, you won't hear it over your PC game, movie or headphones if listening at a mid-range volume. I've had this one's core clock up to 800 at around 45 Celsius idle / minimal use.

5. For a limited time, not sure how long it's running, you can also get a free photoshop bundle with your purchase from EVGA mailed directly to you. *nice!*

6. EVGA's website makes it easy to register your product (lifetime within 30 days) and makes it easy to register for your free software. They also offer a step-up program within 90 days. NOTE:(you can only upgrade to a '500' series card via step-up though).

All in all I'm happy with my purchase. Used up my amazon credit and you can't ask for more than not having to pay out of pocket for something :) Cheers!

<Looking forward to Diablo 3 on highest settings and possibly skyrim... eventually!>

OF the GeForce cards, this one seemed the most free of consumer complaint and at the same time applauded for performance. The card made marked improvements to video output and the only complaint to be made, is not the manufacturer's fault. HDMI cable connectors do not lock in place and an easy tug, accidental or otherwise will dislodge them.

The card, like all high end graphics cards, runs somewhat hot and care should be taken to modify the ventilation of the computer box.

This is one of the better cards in the 400 series that the average gamer won't outgrow for a while. Has a great set of features (Dx11 and 3dVision ready) and the included HDMI cable is pretty neat. PSU requirement is a recommended minimum of 450 W so that was a definite plus point for me as well as the wider memory interface width of the 1GB model.

Performs just as it advertised. Playing Black Ops on medium settings with some hiccups due to my Athlon X2 255... =P.. so ill be getting a new processor sometime soon. But overall this is a great GFX card.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beyond gaming, way beyond, March 28, 2011

[EDIT: Update: I am now running this with a Samsung 32 inch LN32D550, and it is a match made in heaven. Colors every bit as good as mentioned below, games are immersive and lag-free, and the sound through the HDMI cable on the Samsung is superb!]

You can get plenty of game specs for this, but what excites me is how amazing the colors and punch of my older Samsung 22 inch LCD have become with this card. I'm using the DVI cable because the monitor does not have HDMI.

Suddenly my photos look like National Geographic quality, Windows 7 various themes are jaw-dropping, and DVD's and Media Center TV are as rich as on a plasma.

If you are into photo editing or anything else demanding great color and contrast, you will probably be very satisified with the 460.

Plus, it seems super stable, and the software makes fine tuning easy.

I'm running it with a Core i7-950 and 12 GB of RAM on a Gigabyte x58a-ud3r motherboard (Windows 7 Professional). The whole setup is running very cool, even with ambient temps near 30 C.

After all that obsessing over specs and just trying to get the best bang for my buck, I feel great about using this for moderate gaming and serious photo-editing (plus watching TV while playing poker!) I'm pretty stoked, because what I was trying to build was a solid, long lasting multimedia and business software machine that could handle some games now and then. This nVidia card is an excellent part of my new system.

(Actually I'm a little afraid to load up games--there is still one month of school to go!)

For the cost, this card just kicks butt and is one of those cards that will just last you for some time to come.

If you are considering it, you clearly are a gamer or enthusiast and know what it is capable of.

Add this to a life time warranty, over clock this sucker and you just can't be beat.

cant really go wrong with highly reviewed EVGA hardware. the card is fantastic but the first one I got was DOA. Evga was able to send one out to me really quickly once I was able to upload the invoice to their website. One thing to note, from my research, this card has some heat issues if you plan to game hard. apparently there are no heat sinks for the power vrms. you can buy after market parts for it but I am the type of person that doesnt like to pull apart my components. its a shame that they didnt include the heat sinks in this card but the card itself is pretty awesome.
