5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent card for the price and power
I just bought a Asus desktop, with a Samsung 24" monitor (1920 x 1080). Desktop came with a 300W PSU and Integrated Video Card, so I was looking to upgrade the PSU and video card. My budget was to get both for $100, then I found this video card which just needs 300W. 300W is the minimum requirement, but I am not planning to load my desktop with multiple cards or drives,...

300W is the minimum requirement, but I am not planning to load my desktop with multiple cards or drives, so this is just perfect. I previously had my Laptop (HD 4650 - 512 MB) connected to the 24" monitor and it had some lag, but this 1 GB works well for my resolution - 1920 x 1080.

Windows Experience Index went from 3.5 to 6.7
I occasionally play games and this card works with everything I have so far.

This is one of best cards I came across in the mid-range video cards for this price ($73 after rebate).
I found the same card for couple of dollars less in other sites, but I can't wait to have this card. Amazon Prime rules!!

Pros: Quiet, Speed (DDR5), Memory (1 GB), Easy to install (Win 7 64 bit).

Cons: No SLI

I was a bit reluctant to go for this card by reading the reviews here, but then this card has good reviews in all other sites.

A very low in price and a marvelous performance.
Little hot, but with the precision utility you may change the speeds of the fan.
This is the perfect card for the tight budget.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good video card, July 20, 2010

This review is from: EVGA nVidia GeForce GT 240 1 GB DDR5 VGA/DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Video Card 01G-P3-1246-LR (Personal Computers)
I bought this card to replace an older card that fried during a power failure. Installation was trivial. After a few startup issues concerning a frozen mouse (solved by driver re-installation for the wheel mouse), this card worked perfectly. I also had a related issue regarding compatibility of the GPU and motherboard sound processing, but Windows Update (XP SP3) resolved this after a few tries.
I'm happy to have the new card, and I look forward to testing the limits on a few FPS games that I like.
