for loaves, flatbreads, pizza, cookies, etc.. this peel will allow you to place dough on preheated stone gently, easily and accurately (ever had a nice Pizza Pie lose part of the toppings into your nice clean oven?? Not with this peel!). It will allow you to pick up sheet cakes, and other fragile baked goods successfully when they are done. This is the only way I have...

Hard to believe, but true: the owner of this company hired a lawyer to send a letter threatening me with legal action about this review. Considering they admit that I am welcome to share my opinion, and since every word here is both true and my first hand experience, it's not clear to me what their argument will be. for loaves, flatbreads, pizza, cookies, etc.. this peel will allow you to place dough on preheated stone gently, easily and accurately (ever had a nice Pizza Pie lose part of the toppings into your nice clean oven?? Not with this peel!). It will allow you to pick up sheet cakes, and other fragile baked goods successfully when they are done. This is the only way I have found to get REALLY THIN pizza from the peel to the oven successfully, without wrinkles or folds( and I use really wet dough ). I was not sure about it at first... but it WORKS, and works very well! A very short learning curve also.... it is really easy to use!

I've never had a peel...my belief was that it was a piece of kitchen paraphenalia that would be nice to have...but not critical to 'getting it done'...in terms of pizzas, hearth breads and such. Finally, after my most recent 'it didn't want to slide into the oven nicely and I ended up with accordion-looking pizza mess'...I got the Super Peel.

The extra uses that came with the instructions convinced me that I'd made the right decision. (I've already used the cloth as a 'couche' for some baguettes and rolls)

And, yes, I can now whip the pizza dough in and out of the oven (and grill) without the nervous feeling that I used to get.

This peel works very well. I make very wet dough, and this peel makes it easy to get it from the work surface to the stone. It does just what they said it would do. And I got it a day earlier than I expected... you can't beat that. I highly recommend this peel and this company.

This pizza peel works absolutely great!!! But it didn't at first.....

The board arrives in a fairly rough, unsanded/unpolished condition. As it was, it was actually VERY difficult to slide the conveyor belt back and forth when a pizza was on it, even with a lot of flour underneath the belt. It was no-where near as easy looking as the videos online make it seem to be,

But, in the packaging was a note that mentioned you could sand and polish the wood to make it look better, and I assume work better too. So I took some rough emery cloth and really sanded down the slot in the wood to a smooth finish, then finish sanded the entire board- including the slot and the tip, and to top it off I polished the entire thing with a polishing wheel and some wood rouge. After I got the entire board about as smooth and shiny as I could for soft pine, I tried the peel again with a pizza this evening.... and oh baby, it was easy and smooth as could be! Absolutely night and day difference from before sanding and polishing it.

This is totally worth the $50, so if you're on the fence don't even think about buying a $20 traditional one. But definitely sand and polish it down yourself, especially at the tip and the slot, if you want to see the full potential of it. I'd rate it 5 stars all the way if it came finished better from the factory.... but who knows maybe they've improved their finish now so either way give it a shot!

The Super Peel works great. Gone are my days of torn or jumbled up pizzas messed up when trying to get them to the stone. I love making pizzas but there has always been the dreaded "transfers" to worry about. Something was always sticking somewhere. Not any more, the Super Peel works just as advertized.

Another thing - two small plastic connectors (for the cloth) are included and we mistakenly threw them away after unpacking. I substituted clothes pins (which worked ok) the first time I used the peel but knew I wanted the original connectors because I plan on using this thing for a long time. I emailed the Super Peel company asking if it was possible to buy a couple more. I received a reply almost immediately saying they'd put a couple in the mail with no charge - and included a cloth bag to store the peel(I think it's something new, mine had come with a plastic bag). I've never written a review before but this experience got me going.

If baking fragile artisan breads this peel is a must. You will be able to move dough without degassing it to your baking stone. Uses a conveyer system to pick-up or deposit dough where you want it. Very easy to use and assemble. A definite must!

It works so well that I truly enjoy making pizza now. In the past, I would use my old standard wooden peel to transfer the pizza onto the hot stone, what a mess at times, I always had a fight on my hands no matter how much flour I used on the wooden peel. NOW, its pure pleasure picking up the pizza and transferring it on the hot stone. I highly recommend it. Well made and attractive wooden peel. Its a must-have tool for all bakers. However, I still use my old standard peel to remove the pizza/bread from the oven after baking. Check out the company's website, they demonstrate how the peel works. Great customer service too! This product deserves 10 stars!

After posting this review I received an email from the company. They gave me additional tips for storing the peel and offered to replace it if the warping is too severe. As I stated below, placing it on the counter with something heavy on top returned it to its original condition. Apparently the best way to store it is with airflow on both sides. I'll look for a more appropriate location and try again. However, knowing that they are this attentive to their customers makes me even happier that I purchased this peel rather than the others. Cooks Illustrated is an excellent resource and they didn't let me down on this one.

As stated below, the product works very well and I am more than satisfied with the functionality.

As usual, I bought this after reading a review on Cooks Illustrated. I have never had an issue after buying a product they recommend. I wanted to start making pizza at home but knew the right tools would be essential. I love the pastry cloth on this board because it means I can rely less on corn meal to help the pizza slide on and off the peel. It has been easy to use and clean so I am satisfied overall. However, I have tried storing it in a few locations in my kitchen and it has a tendency to warp slightly if there is any degree of moisture. At first I stored it above the refrigerator on top of the pizza stone. It was fine for a week but after using it, washing it and putting it back I noticed significant warping. I placed it on my counter top with a heavy cutting board on top of it and my food processor on top of that. It reverted to its flat shape within a day. I left it on the counter with nothing on top of it after the next use and the same warping happened again after a few days near the stove. Now I've stored it in a deep cupboard on its side. This seems to be better but it is very long and the cupboard door is slightly ajar with it in there. Still, the ease of use justifies finding a good spot for it in the kitchen.

The Super Peel is everything advertised...and more. Although the exercise was probably good for me (not to mention entertaining for onlookers), I do not miss the spasmodic "shake, rattle, and roll" required to get any type of dough off the old ordinary peel and onto the pizza stone. There is now no doubt whether it will land on the stone or on the oven door. Thanks to Exo for a well-made product that works exactly as described.

I think the Super Peel works very well, and I would recommend it. I have moved artisan breads, pizzas, and cookies on parchment paper with it. I was concerned about dough sticking to the transfer belt (a pastry cloth), but nothing has stuck yet. I lightly floured the belt immediately, as recommended. This is the first baking peel I have owned, so I cannot compare it to more traditional peels. Because of my inability to compare the Super Peel to more traditional peels, I did not give it a five star rating though I was tempted to do so.
