Editorial Reviews

Review

"Rooting for Angie and Ross and wishing that Mitch would disappear, the characters are relatable in every way.  Parts of the book will make a reader mad and thinking of different ways to get rid of the "monster." This is really a very fascinating book in every way." --Reviewed by Carol Hoyer, PhD, for Reader Views (7/09)

"Julia Robert's Sleeping with the Enemy meets Cary Grant's An Affair to Remember." --Donna Sutherland, Bookmark Review

"Right always wins out over wrong in the end. I was pleasantly surprised as all of the storylines came together. It was hard for me to put down because there were parts of the story that I didn't see coming and it surprised and delighted me to read those chapters"--Leslie Story--Rebecca's Reads

"Explosion in Paris was, for me, a great, page-turning, suspenseful read. Having read it and enjoyed both the story and the characters, I would recommend it to others. A message could be that love is out there for everyone and it will come find you when you may need it most." --By Lilyraines of Night Owl Romance

"When Ross enters Angela's life, it becomes harder to resist what has been growing on her mind for some time. With a relocation to France, she starts to gain the courage to do what she's been needing to do. This is a fine romance novel that will strike well with women who have lost their luster in their lives." --Midwest Book Review

From the Author

I try to bring something of value to my books, not just entertainment. In writing, I try to implement good verses evil, a value system, and a sense of well-being. I try to bring to the fore, in story form, in every day living, that we have choices and we need to know that we do. We have the choice to see the good in people, to take the right road, and to surround ourselves with the people who truly care about us, not people who drain us emotionally, physically and certainly not financially! Basically, I try to inspire people to live with passion, not to spend each day looking at their watches, wondering, how much longer must I endure this? Writing is one engrossing passion that keeps me excited about life and kicks hum drum out of my vocabulary. Another of my passions is analyzing the gears that drive people. Reading beautifully written books makes me feel enlightened and causes my heart to soar. They add spice to educate my palette in the ever-changing recipe of life and inspire me to want to do my part to create new flavors to be enjoyed. Being a baby boomer, I qualify for the unified age group wherein we women revisit our search for adventure and change, since our children are out of our loving nests, that next to impossible job well done. We have more opportunities to read, to travel, to take up where we left off in our hobbies and passions. We wonder, looking back, if we would have done something differently, taken a different road, where that path might have led us. How I start a novel? I start with the basics, what we all really want in life...to love and to be loved...to be respected...to be accepted for what and who we are, and to be valued......even treasured, which would be the ultimate! I find writing so much easier than speaking! Email is a wonderful invention to me! I love the challenge of creating something that's tangible, something that when I'm finished, I actually have a legacy, in a way, something that, hopefully people will enjoy and/or learn something from...maybe even change their lives in some small way....
I'm 61 years old. I've lived a long time. A certain amount of wisdom comes with age and experience, whether you have a degree or not. To listen to weathered seniors should be a treat to all of us, the older the better. With age comes mellowing and understanding and we find that all those issues we had when we were young seem insignificant to us now and we see life through more forgiving eyes. Life doesn't have to be miserable. Trying to see through the other person's eyes, to realize that our opinions aren't the only ones, is a major milestone for all of us. I think we're all more alike than we are different. We're all searching for the fairy tale. When it doesn't come, we try to create it. As I always say in jest, I do the best I can with what little God gave me to work with. We all do the best we can and we need to respect that in others and give the other guy some slack. Writing down my thoughts helps me to sort out my feelings and organize my plan of attack. Trying to understand why people are the way they are aids in finding ways to help them. Sometimes life throws you heartbreaking curves that you have no control over. Those who refuse to listen to reason and truth and blame everyone else for their own shortcomings and crimes are destined to live in their own sad world of chaos and estrangement. Sometimes, to live in peace and not share that world with them, it is necessary to step out of their lives for the good of all concerned. We should not feel guilty for removing ourselves from an unhealthy, no win situation. We need to forgive ourselves and everyone else for NOT being perfect but when that can't work, RUN! Passion comes in many forms, even as simple as this: We wish that we could be as wonderful of human beings as we want to be. But after all, we are only human! We need to forgive ourselves and everyone else for not being perfect." BLESSINGS!
