This tree stand worked well. The directions are on the back of a sticker, which removed easily for me. The front of the sticker had the main part of the directions. The stand comes with a tubal insert that you put onto the pole of the artificial tree. (It is a tight fit, and takes some elbow grease, but once on is sturdy.) This then is inserted into the hole in the tree stand and screwed in with 2 screws for extra stability. Much nicer than my 4 pronged stand which broke after 4 years. I will take down my tree this year, but keep the stand and "trunk" of tree attached. Very pleased with it.

After 8 years, my artificial tree finally cracked. The 3 little pieces that made up the built-in stand just broke off. So I was out of a Xmas tree on Dec 5. Not knowing they made artificial tree stands, I searched the internet for a regular tree stand that might accommodate an artif tree pole. I thought I could just adjust a reg tree stand to hold the pole so I almost bought a universal tree stand. Then I came across this EZ ARTIFICIAL TREE STAND #119. I measured my tree pole (1.5 inches diameter) & it fit the stand so I ordered it. Its my best buy of the year: fits my (Wal-Mart) artif tree perfectly & I believe the tree is actually more stable with this stand then with its orig built-in stand (I have cats, so Im very pleased.)
As other reviewers have mentioned, the stand directions are on the backside of the label so be careful when you peel it off. All you need to do is put your tree pole in the little hole adapter piece & screw it into the tree stand, easy.
So if you have an artif tree (with a 1.5 pole diameter), do yourself a favor & buy this stand, youll need it sooner or later. Thanks again, Amazon.

Works very well
I have an 8ft tree and this worked very well. Very sturdy but light weight and very simple to use. No turning knobs and such.

horizontal tree
We just spent Christmas with our tree on the floor more often than verical! Perhaps this stand would work for a small tree but our tree kept tipping over! Read more

Was too big for my tree, but still works
