Product Description

Never lose your keys again! And now with new slim tags, never lose your wallet or remote again. This Locator system replaces the EZ-FIND Mini Starter Pack system which has been discontinued. The improved EZ-FIND! system has New SLIM Tags that are only .19 inches thick and a louder beeping mechanism. The system features a hand held device utilizing RF technology to locate lost items tagged with small EZ-FIND! Tags that beep. Finds them through walls, cushions, or other hidden places within 60 feet. Other locators use color codes to find lost items but with EZ-FIND! you wont need to remember a color code. You can personalize each menu item in the transmitter using a 12 alpha numeric easy text entry such as ""Mom's Keys or ""Dad's wallet"" Once the tags are programmed, just place them on the item you want to keep track of using provided rings or adhesive. When looking for the lost item just press ""FIND"" and a large beeping sound will steer you in the right direction to find the lost item Each tag has a long life battery and a low warning battery feature. Includes tags, batteries, adhesive, key rings. Its expandable so you can purchase additional tags for more items you want to track. Extra tag battery is included.

Easy to program.

Don't buy this unless you are willing to spend more money for one to find the transmitter because it doesn't work.

Two big issues. First the battery cover for the remotes is crap. Within just a week the hooks that hole the twist lock cover down broke off. So now that key finder is useless. Second My wife lost her keys so I thought good time to test this out. Started using the remote and had no luck finding the keys. After 5 or so minutes wife started looking again while I continued to use remote. She found them before I did and once we found them I had to get ~1 foot away from the keys before the thing started beeping.
UPDATE 4/30/09: After posting my concerns I have had commication with the company and the have corrected my issues. Turns out there was a design flaw in the original battery covers and has been corrected in a newer key chain. I have tested it around the house and it has worked perfectly in locating the hidden item. My only concern is that they did not update the part number for the product to identify old vs. new product. So you could still end up getting the bad tags and have no way to identify them. But on the possitive side the company was quick to fix the issue which is a major plus in my book. Would make this a 4 Star if I could update that...
I would recommend this now as long as you get the updated tags...

On Monday I misplaced my car key....... again. My wife finally located it in a most unlikely place in the basement and by then I was already thirty minutes late for an appointment. The key must have fallen out of my pocket when I removed something else. Right then I decided it was time to get some kind of locator gadget that would put an end to all this foolishness.

I spent the next couple days researching the available products (see note below) and finally boiled it down to two. One was the FOFA and the other the EZ-Find. After some deliberation I ordered the EZ-Find. My decision to order it was predicated on the following:

1. The tags for the EZ-Find are much smaller than any other. That's a big advantage if you've got a couple of them in your pocket.
2. Their web page provided more complete details including video instructions for programming the unit and an Acrobat Reader file of the owners manual.
3. The EZ-Find can be programmed to read out in alpha numeric characters not just numbers. My car key is identified as, "Dons Car Key". After all, if I can't remember where my key is how in the heck am I going to remember what number is assigned to which item. I could make up a list of the numbers and their respective items but then I'd probably misplace the list.
4. With the FOFA, each tag can call any of the other five. If I had two of them in my pocket and one accidentally set off the other in Church or at the theater it would be pretty embarrassing. The EZ-Find, on the other hand, has an on off switch on the tag.

After having received the kit, I found the following:

1. Very quick delivery. Just a couple days.
2. Easy to program. I had all tags installed and programmed in about fifteen minutes or so.
3.

First of all I purchased this item through Amazon realizing that Amazon fully supports their sales and will back them up. I have been involved with import electronics in my last job and it was never a good experience especially in low end user items.
The item arrived very quickly even though it was the Christmas rush. I opened the package and everything was there as described. I picked up the hand held transmitter and installed a new set of batteries and it powered up. Then I attempted to program the four tag sensors. This is when I started having those old feelings, the hand held unit would not power up when you pushed the startup button without having to keep pushing the on button repeatedly. Anyway did manage to get all four regular and mini tags programed and with a personalized description. Since this was going to be Christmas present it went back into the box. Christmas arrived and opened the box and again the unit would not power without numerous attempts. Tried to demonstrate the key alarms and attempted to set them off and two would not work. Needless to say it went back to Amazon, and I must say that was the best experience I had dealing with this item.
The other thing one must remember is if you're out somewhere and you miss place your keys unless you have the transmitter with you, you're out of luck. After seeing the down side of this item I would only recommend key alarms that transmit between one another and without a master transmitter.

I was given this product as a gift and just programmed all my tags and I didn't have any problems at all, however, the instructions could have been more clear about how to install the batteries in the tags, but once I got the first one in it was pretty easy. The product is pretty unique. I haven't seen anything like it. My husband bought this for me because I'm always losing things. I'm definitely going to buy more tags for all those items.

Not worth anything! One of the four devices broke while trying to program it. The other three would not program, and would only make a sound on the same Number #1 setting. The beeping they make is almost too soft to be heard, and could not be heard until within 12 inches of the device.
