This valentines day, I braved the snow to fire up the propane grill (a tradition for us), and... no propane!! I had an EZ Grill sitting in my shop with the camping gear - left over from last summer. Not sure if it would work, I set it on a barstool on the front porch (with a cookie sheet on the stool) and lit a corner... it fired right up! Within 20 minutes, I had two expensive ribeyes grilling to perfection. Fast, mess free - just fantastic. And it saved my VERY important date night!!!

I tried the EZ Grill for the first time after a friend had raved about it and was so sure I would be hooked that she gave me one to use on a camping trip. I wasn't sure how this little portable box would grill my Veggie Kabobs like my BBQ at home but the results were amazing to all of us! The temperature stayed even through the whole grill with no hot spots and my dish was cooked perfect. My skeptical friend even through a burger on the corner of the EZ Grill and the results were a delicious juicy perfectly cooked burger. The experience became even better when we realize there was no grill to scrape and disposal was a breeze, one less thing to unpack and clean when we returned home from our camping trip. A great recommendation made to me and now I pass that recommendation to everyone!

I love to go camping with friends and our horses, but lugging all the BBQ stuff along is a major pain. On a trip I brought EZ Grills to share and it all worked great, super-easy cleanup, and voila, the only messy part of the meal was the chocolate cake! Kudos to EZ Grill for making life a little easier.

I love charcoal grilled food, but I absolutely hate to mess with it. I bought a gas grill, but it just doesn't have the same flavor. So, when offered a chance to review the EZ Grill, I couldn't pass it up. Here are my thoughts after use:

Cons:

The foil pan was too flimsy, making it difficult to keep it on the rack that was included. I had to re-adjust it several times to keep it on.

Like others mentioned, I also had the problem of the coals gathering towards one end. I couldn't get them to stay spread out because the foil had crumpled up at one end. This definitely limited how much you could grill. The grill is 12" wide. I was able to use 7" of it.

Pros:

It was easy to use and easy to clean up. Open the package, pull out the foil tray, set up the rack, light a match and let it burn for about 15 minutes until the coals are gray.

The grill was super easy to light up - I had no problems at all.

Cleanup was a breeze - I threw water on it. Let it sit until cold. Drain out any remaining water. Put it in a plastic bag and toss.

The meat cooked wonderfully - no burning. I cooked two filets about 8 ounces each. From the time I opened the package until I ate the meat was 30 minutes.

The steak was absolutely delicious, crusty brown, and with just enough charcoal flavor to make it worth cooking outside! (It was a cold today!)

Bottom line:

I will definitely buy the EZ Grill to keep on hand. For the price of one steak dinner at my favorite restaurant, I can buy this grill, the meat, and the other side dishes to go with it. I will also keep one on hand for emergencies when the electricity goes out.

For those of you who like to grill, this is not an economical purchase. But for those of us who hate the mess of grilling on coals and don't like the flavor of gas, this is the perfect answer for an occasional meal.

4 Stars! I'll give it 5 stars after they make the foil sturdier.

This past summer I was having trouble with my grill and while at the store to get matches, picked this up. Best thing I could have done. It didn't require anything other than to be lit and made good burgers as if they were made on a big conventional grill. I plan on buying the pack of four to use when I start missing bbq in the winter months.

I bought my first EZ Grill for a camping trip last summer to Colorado. I was amazed how well this portable and disposable grill was able to handle 4 thick cut steaks. The charcoal fired up quickly and the grill was ready for use within 15 minutes. It remained hot the entire time it took to BBQ all 4 steaks to perfection. My kids were thrilled with the results. This was much easier than dealing with messy briquettes and lighter fluid. PLUS...when the steaks and dinner were done...we still had a hot grill for our nightly Smores! WOOHOO! EZ Grill makes grilling in the great outdoors easy AND fun!

I love these things.

I come from South Africa and they are readily available all over there, I have struggled to find them here in the USA. I bought some on amazon to use for tailgating, picnics or at the beach.

They have been very useful - work very well - grill meat fine. Disposable so no cleaning up (aside from dropping things in the trash) or carrying things home. They last as long as they need to.

A bit pricier than I would like - but perhaps thats because the EZ Grill doesnt have any current competition...

I use this grill as part of my readiness prepare kit in Florida for power outages. I have purchase these before and they work great. I can say I cooked hamburgers , hotdogs and corn and small steaks on these grills in the past. If you are looking for something that takes a long time to cook or something you add a lot sauce to this is not the grill for you. It is like grilling on a foiled pan.

But for what I am using it for works for me.

I feel as if Amazon has created a forum for irrational people to congregate. This grill is literally around $10 and people are complaining that it's cheaply made? Seriously? Go make one yourself. This grill is really only great in a pinch and SURPRISE! should not replace your current grill set up. But it's awesome to leave these in the car for beach trips or camping.

Ignore irrational 1 star reviews as those people were expecting some kind of $300 Weber apparently.

I saw these and thought to get a couple as a back up to a small grill I had for tailgating since I did not know if a few others of my group would show up.

CONS

it is a little flimsy but works

the stand does not attach just sits on it

the charcol should be spread out more even

PROS

it lights fast

gets hot

great for some quick cooking or warming items in like sized foil or foil roasting pans

The bottom line is this should not be your main grilling item but it does work if you have items to help. I had a fire place grill to sit them on so I did not have to worry about the stand that came with them. I shook it up a little while flat to spread the charcoal. They lit fast and worked to heat up chilli and grill extra links and dogs while my main grill was in use. SUGGESTION: place it in another foil type roasting pan if you are cooking links. The ones I had were not perfectly flat so I had a couple of links kinda roll off on me. I would use again as a side cooker for other items and then there is no mess to clean after. I liked that part. It is good enough for some tailgating,a picnic, or to set on top of your home grill if you want something quick and dont feel like a big clean up after.
