Helped my 5-year-old get started on the keys.,

This book helps pre-schoolers play the keyboard by color-coding the notes and providing stickers to attach to the keys. It also has a few puzzles and coloring pages (not that I found them all that necessary to keep my girl engaged). My daughter was able to get started quite quickly though she still has to learn tempo and rhythm. This is a good first book for ages 4-7.

My 2 children ages 9 and 5 both showed some interest in playing the piano. I have no musical ability and I wanted to make sure my kids were serious before we paid for lessons and bought a piano. The book was easy to follow. The stickers easily can be removed. My 9 year old was able to play mary had a little lamb within 10 minutes. It took my 5 year old about 30 minutes. I was worried that the kids would be hooked on the stickers and not want to play without them. Both my children have been able to go use pianos without the stickers and play the songs now. This was a great small investment to show that my kids were ready to learn to play the piano. I am happy as well, because I was able to learn to play a few christmas songs from the book so the book has helped both the kids and adults in our family.
