Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Eagle, one of five titles in the Creatures of the Wild series, explores the world of North America's supreme birds of prey, the bald and golden eagles. With their fierce visage and strikingly noble presence, these beautiful animals are naturally photogenic, and the excellent camera work here displays their soaring acrobatics in great detail.

As usual, the focus is primarily on the bald eagle, giving its equally impressive cousin, the golden eagle, short shrift once again. However, the text is quite good, with thorough information on all aspects of eagle behavior and its subtle adaptation to various regional habitats. There are also extensive quotes from the observations of legendary naturalist John James Audubon, and interesting photo captions providing additional information. --George Laney

This review is from: Eagle (Creatures of the Wild) (Hardcover)
A book my 10 year old daughter throughly enjoyed. Beautiful photographs, lots of information for a person to learn specifics about eagles. Follows a nesting pair of eagles through raising two eaglets. Including building a nest, feeding, teaching to fly, and how the eaglets gain their independance.
