Keeps out all the light - and they FEEL GREAT!, March 14, 2010
I have used these on plane flights and in a Vegas hotel with barely working shades to block the neon night. They fit well, feel comfortable and block quite an amazing amount of light from getting to the eyes. They are easy to sleep in and easy to care for!

These work best for me (and my big nose) in a dark room..., February 25, 2011
This review is from: Eagle Creek Travel Gear Comfort Eye Shade (Apparel)
I recently reviewed Eagle Creek's other eye shade, the over-stuffed Comfort Plus version that's been chaffing my ears and leaking light above my nose for a few months, and thought I'd give this simpler version a try. I've always been a fan of Eagle Creek's quality in backpacks, ditty bags, and travel accessories.
This sleep mask improves on my biggest complaint about the Comfort Plus version: it's very flat, so when I roll over onto my side, it doesn't get in the way. The soft fleece remains very cool and soft and basically isn't there. Oh, and the straps (for some reason) don't rub my ears raw, even though they appear to be the same material as on the other uncomfortable version. The mask isn't cupped or contoured like some others, though it has very light depressions where it sits over the eyes. I don't have any trouble with this mask feeling as if it is pressing on my eyes, as other reviewers have commented about other flat masks (not this one).
Unfortunately, this one falls short in another area: it leaks in too much light. I have a large nose and high cheeks, so I was hoping the high nose cut-out would accommodate that and give me good coverage around my eye sockets. After all, I wear sunglasses with a high bridge for the same reason -- they fit my face better!
But apparently what this mask has in height, it doesn't have in width. I not only see light around the nose, but from off the tops of my cheeks as well.
So in a dimly lit room, these are working alright for me. In a bright, daylight lit room, I need to look for something better. Though in all fairness, if you have a smaller, narrower nose, this mask may be just what the Z-monster ordered!

Downgrade product from pervious version, August 4, 2011
This review is from: Eagle Creek Travel Gear Comfort Eye Shade (Apparel)
I lost an Eagle Creek eye mask bought in 2010 and they do not produce the same type anymore. I ordered this new style online and was greatly disappointed when I received it. The material is thin and cheap, the curve is shallow compared to previous version and the mask press directly onto my eyes when I wear it which is uncomfortable. I do not recommend this product. Try Megallen's Light Out eye mask instead. I ordered 2 of them and am very satisfied.
