I bought a bunch of Eagle Creek products for this year's RAGBRAI (a weeklong bike ride across Iowa) and loved them all. This bag is supposed to be for socks, but I decided to use it to carry all of the loose stuff that I need to set up my tent; tent pins, bungies, and a big ol' plastic mallet. Don't know how it does to carry socks, but this bag is perfect for carrying my tent stakes and such.

I bought this size thinking I would use it for socks. Turns out it was better to use for my undies. I had 8 days worth rolled up into this and I could have probably fit a couple more in it. I am not a large person, so the amount of rolled undies you can fit into this would go down if your underwear is significantly large.

The best thing about this system is that if you pack all your clothes in cubes, it makes living out of a suitcase so much easier and less frustrating.

For some reason this tube shape just work for me. I have eagle creek rectangles but they dont' fit well in my roll aboard. they are just the wrong size to integrate with other stuff. the tube, however, fits in crevices, like the ones created by the suitcase pull-up handle. I used to stuff socks in those odd spaces, but this tube, can be nestled in those spaces. I stuff socks and underwear in it. Useful. I also use the very small tube to carry chargers and adapters, it is perfect. BTW, I like the handles alot. small feature but really useful.

I was really happy to see how nicely this product helps to organize my suitcase. A nice thing about it is that it is soft enough to bend and crunch into those crooks and crannies of the packing. Good fabric, and mesh, and good zipper.

This is a great item for packing socks or underwear. It is easy to see what is inside, in case your luggage is searched. It opens from the side so that you can place it in the drawer flat, unzip it, and your clothing never has to touch the bottom of the drawer. I would reccommend the tube, half-tube, and tube cube as starters, but you will want more!

I bought these to porganize my 9 year old for her first trip to camp.
They worked perfectly in her duffel bag, kept everything in a way she could see what she had.
I am going to purchase more for myself.
Oh and when she returned home, I threw them in the washer with no problem!

I own innumerable packing accessories, including other brands of packing cubes, as well as Eagle Creek products (not all of which have dazzled me). I am very happy with this product, and am submitting this review as I order a couple more cubes.

The cubes are perfect for a week's worth of socks or underwear, or if in a crunch, 2 or 3 compressed shirts. I consider these packing cubes as scalable, unlike a lot of the larger ones available ... not too big nor too small. (I try to pack about 25 lbs for all types of travel).

Once packed, they make great insulation for delicate garments or travel accessories. The materials (zipper included) have held up well. I even like the fact that these are red (the one's I bought) instead of the over-used black materials that make it hard to find things in a suitcase or duffel bag.

I ordered this bag to organize my various phone, ipod, and other device wires while traveling. For that purpose, it seems to be just about perfect assuming that you aren't trying to fit a laptop charging adapter in there with everything else. Although, a laptop charger might fit, in addition to wires for several other devices, if everything is properly and neatly wrapped.

However, for the price, I assumed that the bag would be a little larger. It is a small bag. I don't know what the reviewer below is talking about with this holding a week of underwear. Perhaps, if you're a woman, or if you "re-wear" (disgusting). However, there is NO WAY this will hold a week of men's boxers. No way.

The bag is well made with a convenient carrying handle. However, its small size seems to relegate it to accessory storage, 5 days of socks, five days of underwear, or a hygiene bag. The hygiene bag use seems like it would work very well. I might be convinced to buy another for that purpose.

Judging by "the feel" of value that we all have developed through our lives, this bag seems a couple of dollars overpriced. 20%. No big deal when your talking ten dollars total. If it were 20% larger, it would feel spot on. Anyway, I'll keep it for the purpose mentioned but will look for a slightly larger 'slim' bag for any other travel organization needs. I will to reiterate that it is very well made.

This cube won't fit in small day bags, but can slot into any decent sized book bag and upwards in terms of size. They can be used for a myriad of purposes - I use this size to pack two pairs of swimming shorts, and a rash vest, or a load of socks. It keeps it shape pretty well, but is also very flexible and soft. This means it collapses down flat and can even fold if needed. When full, I would think that three of them would fit in a normal book bag. I use this and half tube in the bottom of my max carry on Red Oxx Air Boss to act as a squishy base, with some firmness, on which to put things like my laptop or iPad.

HERE ARE MY MORE GENERAL COMMENTS ABOUT EAGLE CREEK PACKING CUBES
Packing cubes are a very useful way of giving simple structure to a large space in a bag and make travel a lot easier. I've gone back and forth on their merit but think they do serve a useful purpose. My main concern has been that they add weight and time to packing - another thing to carry and another zip to open to access anything. However, having a mini compartment not only keeps the internal structure of a bag neat, but also helps with unpacking and living out of a suitcase. It's great to be able to pull out a packing cube of cables and underwear and then suddenly be unpacked but still organised. They don't work for everything - I pack bulky items by themselves - but where you have a collection of small items they can really help.

Eagle Creek make the standard packing cubes. By this I don't mean ordinary but the ones by which others are judged. They are strong, good zips, sturdy handles, easy viewing of contents and great sizes. This particular cube is perhaps the most versatile. Yes it is small, which is limiting, but its dimensions make it fit in many different spaces and stack / tessellate in a myriad of ways. As such, it can be used to usefully store and move sets of items from suitcase to backpack to day bag to hotel drawers to a table.

There are more expensive and impressive packing cubes. Ones that are lighter, are waterproof, compress, have shoulder straps, or internal organization. But all of these are also more expensive. I think this range hits a good sweet spot of function, form, and price.

I often see this tube cube used for rolled socks and underwear, but I find it most useful for containing my curling iron and hair straightener as well as my brush. The tube cube is perfectly sized for these longer items and keeps the cords contained. The shape fits well in that long narrow space between the "handle storage" found in most rolling suitcases or filling in gaps in other bags.

In response to a one-star review below, while I'm sure you could use these packing cubes to carry stuff around in, I don't believe they are necessarily designed to be used that way. The cubes are very soft-sided and collapsible so that they can be formed to fit most packing spaces. When packing, I turn my cubes with the handle pointing to the side of my suitcase that will be open. I then use the handle to quickly lift each container out of my suitcase and slide them into a hotel drawer or whatever. I have never had a time where I tried to grab one by the handle and had things spill out along the zippered side. It should be overly obvious when the zipper isn't done up to the point of items falling out, because without it the pack-it cube is shapeless.

I highly recommend this item as well as others in the Eagle Creek packing system to any organized traveler and especially to those who would love to be more organized and not chasing down their last pair of clean socks in a cavernous suitcase.
