5.0 out of 5 stars I Modified Mine and Love It!
I travel internationally quite a bit. I bought one of these before a 23-day trip to Europe and have used it ever since. I cut the straps off and turn it sideways inside my bra. The backing is soft and comfortable. I keep my passport, a credit card, and most of my currency in it. I also carry a lightweight shoulder purse or fanny pack with guidebook, camera, makeup, and...

1.0 out of 5 stars Too big.
I wanted something just big enough to hold my passport and maybe a credit card without putting them in my bag. This thing is huge and there is nothing subtle about wearing it under clothes.

The backing is soft and comfortable. I keep my passport, a credit card, and most of my currency in it. I also carry a lightweight shoulder purse or fanny pack with guidebook, camera, makeup, and some cash. If I were robbed I would not lose much. On that European trip, one lady in our party had her purse snatched, so I know theft is a real worry!

5.0 out of 5 stars I use mine everyday, April 13, 2008

I bought my pouch two years ago and like it so much that I use it everyday instead of carrying a bulky purse or wallet. Money, credit cards, and other small items (eyedrops, chapstick, etc.) are always within hand's reach, making it much more convenient than a wallet. After two years of constant use, it's held up extraordinarily well. The only issue is the velcro is starting to get a little "soft" and doesn't seal as well as it used to.

We just returned from ten days in Italy and Switzerland. We bought three of them and they were in daily use for fear of somehow losing our passports in a foreign country. The cool max fabric made them very comfortable against the body. The different compartments made it easy to segregate boarding passes, cash, credit cards and passports. The quality is good, nothing ripped or frayed and the price is very reasonable. Overall very pleased and wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed, May 1, 2010

I took a cruise that went to four different countries so I wanted something that I could conceal and secure my passport, charge card and cash. The Eagle Creek neck pouch worked exactly as advertised. I was very glad to have it with me. I would definitely recommend it.

If you are going to a dangerous area or need peace of mind, these neck pouches are great to keep thing safe. I love international traveling and really love going to off the beaten path countries that terrify my mother. I have purchased aleg pouch, a crotch pouch, and a neck pouch. I regularly use the neck pouch.

Things to Realize: With all designs (neck, crotch, or leg) you need to be careful where you are accessing these hidden carriers. If you are in Negro Mercado (Black Market) in La Paz, Bolivia, then don't whip it out in the middle of the street and then be surprised when a theif targets you.

The neck pack is durable, is concealable, and does exactly what it is supposed to. One thing I do that I think has worked well for me is that I carry a fake wallet in my back pocket. I keep small amount of money and old expired debit cards in there. Thus, if I am robbed I will quickly offer that wallet and know that I lost a velcro wallet, some spending money, and expired cards. In the neck pouch I keep the bulk of my cash and my cards. When I know I'm going to spend some cash money I transfer money from my pouch to the fake wallet and only access my fake wallet in public.

With traveling in general, be wise about the things you do. Don't whip out large amounts of cash in public, don't walk down the street with a map open in front of your face, travel in groups if in a dangerous area, know what transportation is the safest (are certain cabs licensed?), read up on the local scams, and be alert. Follow these rules and you should be good to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wear it around your waist, July 12, 2011

I wore this "neck" pouch around the waist and it was nearly invisible under jeans and other pants. It is more comfortable and cooler than a traditional waist money belt, which was unstable, somewhat floppy, and almost dropped important cards. A boy tried to knock me over and pickpocket my decoy purse in Barcelona, but he only ran off with a free map and a couple other unimportant papers.

This pouch works great. It's large enough to hold way more than you'd probably like to have hanging in front of your chest, but better than than too small. I find a neck pouch ever so much more comfortable than a money belt, even the high quality Rick Steves Silk Money Belt.

You may want to get two. When I had just one I was using it every day for several weeks and it started to get a bit funky smelling. With two I can wash one out in a convenient sink with the rest of my easy-wash clothes (using my Lewis N. Clark Laundry Kit) and let it dry while I wear the last one I washed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, May 31, 2011
This review is from: Eagle Creek Travel Gear Neck Pouch (Apparel)
I have owned this product for over 10 years of multiple trips a year. I was recently pick-pockeded in Istanbul, but this product kept my credit cards and most of my money safe. I find it easy to wear (fits easly in space above my "balcony" and is not obvious. The only difference in the current product seems to be a monocrome product label, while mine has a multi-colored label. (Yes, smaller might be nice.)

I hope nothing else has changed. The product has a absorbent back that kepts it comfortable. I am buying another, because this one is wearing out, after a lot of good use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dependable travelling companion, May 28, 2011

I kept my passport safe along with a few cash. You would have to fold your boarding tickets. Light weight while the shoulders straps are adjustable. If there would be segregated pocket for cash, it would be perfect.
