5.0 out of 5 stars Great for traveling light
These were really useful for packing up dirty clothes while I was traveling, both to keep them away from the clean stuff and to keep them from taking up too much space. And they were also great for squeezing my bulky jacket into my bag when I was traveling in warmer climates. The medium/large set worked well for me.

1.0 out of 5 stars A glorified Ziploc bag
I am completely baffled by all the positive reviews for this product. I bought these compression sacs because of the positive reviews as well as positive experiences I've had with Eagle Creek products in the past (their luggage, in particular). However, these bags are truly worthless. They are like big Ziploc bags made with slightly thicker plastic. As I was testing one...

I am using this product to compress our winter coats so we can have more room in our bags. I tried this out last night and it works like a charm! I now have lots more space to work with in my suitcase! I first saw this in a travel magazine for a much higher price so I'm glad I was able to find it here for cheaper! Thanks for a great product & a great deal!

These bags are fantastic! Very easy to use, and they do exactly what you need them to do. Compress large bulky items into smaller compressed and sealed ones. You pack them, seal them, and then roll them to release all air, and bada bing, bada boom! You're ready to go!

Great quality bags that hold their seal......The medium is about the biggest size bag you can fit inside a 22" carry on bag.

I was dubious when I bought these, as questioned whether could really work very well with just manually squeezing out the air. But worked like a charm! I used it to compress a twin size air mattress in the "large" size which easily reduced the size by over half. Also used the "medium" size for a queen-size blanket which also worked wonderfully. Highly recommend these if you want to squeeze more stuff into a smaller suitcase.

I purchased Two of these Eagle Creek Medium/Large sets prior to a trip I took to Europe this summer. I wanted to pack "light" as far as number of bags, because, lets face it, who wants to pay the extra money for checked luggage? (I have a pretty standard carry-on and the large fits in pretty snug the medium has a little more wiggle room.) These bags worked like a charm. I actually only had to use two (1 medium and 1 large, as opposed to all 4) to fit all my clothes that I would need for touring and the conference I would attend. I was easily able to fit clothes for a variety of functions for the 8 day trip (some days I needed multiple outfits)

Notes:
The bags were quite simple to use, though not really amenable to "rolling" the air out. I found it worked best if I kneeled on the bag to press the air out. This didn't bother me, but it is something to note.
Also, it works best if you fold your clothes "flat". I tend to fold my clothes in smaller, but fatter bundles, but for these bags if you want to fit more in a suitcase, its better to fold sleeves in, then fold the shirt in half. For pants I folded them in thirds. With this method I fit all my clothes (shirts/pants) in the large bag, and socks/underwear/jacket in the medium.
The yellow clip for sealing the bag is handy, but if you loose it, no biggy, this is basically a giant ziploc (all be it with heavier material and one way air vents) you can close it with your fingers with only slightly more effort.

Thats all I can think of for now. I would definitely recommend this product, in fact, I purchased some as a gift for another.

I give only four stars because I am very stingy with fives, and because I have only used them for the one Europe trip (though that included packing and unpacking several times), however, I travel several times a year, so I will update after I have used them a few more times.

These are great when you have to squeeze too much into too little space! The large one was too large for any suitcase I carry, so if I buy again it will be only the small size. I suppose the large would be the right size for a man's jacket, though.

These are much thicker than the Lewis n Clark brand, and seem like they will hold up for many uses. Easier to compress these as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Travel bags, March 7, 2011

I've tried different types of "compressed" traveling bags thatbclaim they're vacuum free... But these bags are amazing! I bought them for a bug trip I recently took yo Asia.. Spent 3months traveling and since I always overpack I figured these bags would help keep size of clothing contained and compressed. They did the job! I was very impressed... All you ave to do is roll air out.. Only complain people could have is clothes come out wrinkled. Since most of my clothes were light in material they did come out wrinkled but due to humidity in Asia they ironed themselves out..
I would definitely recommend these bags for traveling.

I was sceptical on the bags because they were so cheap looking on the picture, but I needed something quick and cheap. I was VERY happily suprised at how well they work. I will be using them for kayaking this weekend because they are also waterproof. Trully for the money you can't get a better deal.
