4.0 out of 5 stars High quality High price, December 2, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The delivered bag matches the written description. The quality of the materials and construction is very good, however, it seems moderately overpriced. I have one design complaint; the cinch straps are not needed.

Update...Having owned and lived out of this bag continuously for about six months, I can report it is holding up as one would hope, except for the appearance of rust on the metal pieces of the shoulder strap. I never use the cinch straps. I have resorted to tucking them under the flap to keep them out of the way.

Update...Having owned and lived out of this bag continuously for about 18 months, I can report that not much has changed since the previous report. The bag is dirtier than a year ago, but in remarkably similar overall condition.

Update...Having owned and lived out of this bag continuously for nearly 3 years, I can report that the durability of this bag is outstanding. The bag had become quite dirty but a trip through the washing machine restored it remarkably well. Its one weakness is the shoulder strap. The metals parts rusted and the cushioning lost its loft. Eagle Creek replaced the strap at no charge under its lifetime warranty program.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maximum space, minimum weight, June 11, 2009

I bought this bag to replace an older Eagle Creek duffel that had served me faithfully for over a decade.

When traveling on small "commuter" airlines, the standard wheeled carry-on is not a carry-on. Since I travel with numerous medicines and other things that cannot leave my possession, a small duffel bag is the ideal under-seat bag for my travels--especially in Europe, where some short flights restrict cabin baggage to about 10 pounds maximum weight, as well as a smaller size than the average U.S. requirements.

Packed carefully, a small duffel like this will carry a change or two of clothing, health and bathroom essentials and small electronics. Eagle Creek's construction is sturdy, but light enough that wheels are not needed.

This newer version of the bag offers a place to slip it over a rolling suitcase handle, a slightly larger zippered side pocket, and a slightly different configuration (shorter and wider, with a longer, more curved top zipper opening) than my original bag. All of this will probably make it slightly easier to pack, and easier to stuff under the seat on an airplane.

If you don't want to schlep a heavy wheeled bag on board, or you want to keep your possessions near you, even on tiny planes, this is the bag to choose.

5.0 out of 5 stars bag is great, January 9, 2009

this bad is great. the front zipper pouch is nice for really small items like a passport and the padded strap makes it so comfortable. the only thing i wish it had was an extra zipper pouch on the end...just for other odds & ends. oh - and it's obviously small enough to be a carry on for a flight. it's perfect for a weekend trip or a light packer.

Well made bag. The small is large enough to carry my Kindle, GPS, DroidX, lunch, bevergages, newspaper, and few more things. It could be used for a light overnight bag easily. Coulld be used for a smaller gym bag.

I carry this bag to work. Most bags last about a year, but this one, I've had for 7 months, and it's still like new. Thank you Eagle Creek.

Love the eagle creek series of duffle bags. They are sturdy and have traveled many places in the world with me.
They have endured many plane trips and have been thrown around by many baggage handlers. The eagle creek duffles are my first choice for Safari's and as extra luggage for excess purchasing.

I bought this piece as a carry-on for a long-dreamed of trip to Africa. Of course, I was carrying a couple of expensive cameras and wasn't about to put them in checked luggage. They both went in this bag, carefully wrapped up in clothing. The bag -- and the camreas -- stood up under all kinds of conditions from game drives to airport waits and lines, lines, lines and the bag came home looking as good as when I pulled it out of the packaging. It is now my go-to bag for traveling. The construction and materials are sturdy. It's a bag to last a good long time through all kinds of handling. It fits under airline seats (and works as a pillow in a pinch). Do not pass go -- get this one!
