These locks work fine for airport security - they were not cut the 4 times I checked my bag. I bought them for an upcoming backpacking trip to Europe and I am definitely impressed with how much lighter weight they are than other locks I have seen.

Goldilocks of the Locks,

Luggage locks always seem to be a problem I can't solve. Too big, too heavy, too small. My luggage is super light so why do I want heavy locks? I just got a bunch of these in cherry red and suddenly I am no longer the Goldilocks of the locks. Perfect size, super easy to set, very light yet not flimsy. So long as these locks do not jam or fall apart or reset themselves in the middle of the night to combinations that are a mystery to me (what your locks don't do that?) my lock problem has been solved. I will report back later to let you know the next chapter in the story.
Update: April 27,2011. The locks have been battered around by airport personnel, by tour personnel, by hotel personnel and are still functioning perfectly. I am very happy with these. One reviewer had trouble reading the numbers on the locks and the instructions. I have not had that problem at all but then I do not need reading glasses. If you do, that might be an important issue for you.

Difficult to read numbers, photo displayed is misleading,

1. The locks work.
2. The numbers on the lock are very hard to read unless you happen to be holding it at just the right angle under good lighting. The picture shown is deceiving in that the number dials are a very shiny chrome, and the numbers don't stand out. Eagle Creek should use black dials with white numbers. 3. The lock can be hard to set. I set it to a different combination due to hard to read and incomplete instructions - I was only able to salvage the lock by trying each number in sequence until I found the correct combo. Then I could reset it again. 4. The instructions for setting the lock combo are far too small to read and the diagrams are not easy to understand. I believe they left out part of step 3 to pull up on the hasp before turning it back clockwise back to the top part based on their diagram. Eagle Creek should make a youtube video to provide an example of how to set the lock pointing out the little protrusion and where it has to be to set the lock correctly.
