Robert Muchamore was born in Islington in 1972. He still lives there, and works as a private investigator. He was inspired to create the CHERUB series by his nephews' complaints about the lack of anything for them to read! CHERUB: The Recruit was Robert's first book and won the Red House Children's Book Award 2005 in the Older Readers Category.

I have bought all of the Cherub books for my grandson, who absolutely loved the stories. The latest series he couldn't wait to read and when I asked him how the book was, he told me now he knows how the Cherub's started. What I like about the latest book is that in addition to being a thriller, there is also factual info on World War 2. I highly recommend the book for boys.

This series of books tore through the neighborhood. We were so happy to get copies when we did because they were HOT and hard to find. Thanks Robert Muchamore for writing something my boy would read. They made him the BMI5G (Big Man in 5th grade). He was the go-to guy for the next installment as our libraries and bookstores didn't even have copies yet!
