Older Generations find Change Ideas Helpful,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Eagle & The Monk: Seven Principles of Successful Change (Hardcover)
(from an 80 year old reader who does not have a computer from which she can submit a review...) In regards to "The Eagle & The Monk," I am finding it most interesting (and helpful) reading. Many of us older people do have difficulty in adapting to the changes going on around us. I am one of these. And, thinking back, I can remember that my own grandmother had this same difficulty. When I was a child, the radio, movies, serve-yourself grocry stores, etc. were just coming in. Grandma wasn't able to fully understand all these new things. Now, here I am, a Grandma myself, and I wonder about computers and all the other things which are coming into being day by day. All the same, I think it is wise to try to understand WHY new things botyher us "old folks" so much. I further think that your book is going to help me in doing this.

Wow! Every once in a while a book comes along that grabs your attention and really makes you think about how to deal with the world around you. The Eagle & The Monk brings the reality of today's challenges into a fable that provides a useful guide to a successful journey. The message contained in this book can help everyone in the family deal with the never ending changes life seems to bring. In fact, this book could be the perfect gift to send someone dealing with significant change.

Within twenty four hours of reading The Eagle and the Monk, I shared it with the leadership of our business and finance organization. They are now using it to create the conceptual framework for the ongoing discussion and decision making required by our need to restructure all of the jobs in the office. It is a very powerful tool.

This review is from: The Eagle & The Monk: Seven Principles of Successful Change (Hardcover)
The Eagle & The Monk is more than a business book. The principles of successful change have as much relevance to the issues confronting families as it does business operations. I hope this book finds its way beyond the confines of the board room and into the family room. Paula Shoaf

Every hospital waiting room in America should possess a copy of the book.Change is inevitable upon any hospital admission. The industry of healthcare itself is a forerunner of transition that must maintain integrity and seek champions.

"It could become a classic!",
By A Customer
This review is from: The Eagle & The Monk: Seven Principles of Successful Change (Hardcover)
As a rabbi, I seldom read books about business. The fable format of E & M, however, was so compelling that I could not put it down. Change is a part of all of our lives. The authors make a convincing case for the need to embrace rather than resist it. They then show us how to do so effectively. The teachings of this book apply not only to business but to all aspects of life and relationships. The EAGLE & THE MONK could become a classic! I plan to use it for staff and Board retreats at my synagogue. Stephen Fuchs, Congregation Beth Israel West Hartford, CT

A book that stands out with it's powerful message of trust,

This review is from: The Eagle & The Monk: Seven Principles of Successful Change (Hardcover)
The approach the authors used is refreshing, easy to read. I believe E&M serves up the importance that trust is one of the core ingredients to success in both personal and professional lives. It is refreshing to read because the message of trust comes through as told in a parable. After having read the book, I ordered 5 to be sent to my customers that I consider "key customers." Highly recommend this book to "anyone" as the message the book delivers is for "everyone."

The fable presented by these authors helps stimulate thinking about changes in our professional and personal lives. I found the questions presented in the conclusion of the book to be a wonderful resource for applying the concepts of the fable. Reading this book is a very nice way to begin the new year!

A Business Book for the Business of Life...,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Eagle & The Monk: Seven Principles of Successful Change (Hardcover)
"The Eagle & the Monk" reaches out to the reader, laying aside the traditionally bland garb of the "business book" in favor of a story, and, in the process, hands the reader the most honest tools for dealing with change. The book presents 7 Principles that force us to refocus our attention from the cause and effect EVENTS of change to the HUMAN BEINGS involved in change. It is the human beings who place trust in one another and value each others' worth, who form the teams and create synergy, thereby creating successful change. This book makes its point through two characters whose situations must, in some way, reflect situations in which we have all found ourselves. The symbolism is direct, and the stories of the characters touching and inspiring enough to force even the most stiff executive to rethink his or her concept of how change is effective. We need more books that encourage us to positively interact with one another to produce such successes.
