5.0 out of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK IN A DAY!
This book has given me hope. I guess you could describe me as a sceptic, but a curious one. I am the sort of person that requires physical proof for mediumship or psycic powers of any sort...I have to say, that although I am still waiting for the real 'physical' proof in my world, Rosemary Altea has done the best job so far of convincing me by words. 1.0 out of 5 stars The Eagle and the Rose
My book club read the Eagle and the Rose this month with high expectations. We were sorely disappointed. We expected insightful and inspirational content. We found neither. Edgar Cayce and Carlos Castaneda's books did a much better job 20 years ago. We expected a well written narrative that would keep our interest. Instead we were bored, the writing so repetitive...

5.0 out of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK IN A DAY!, January 15, 2000

This book has given me hope. I guess you could describe me as a sceptic, but a curious one. I am the sort of person that requires physical proof for mediumship or psycic powers of any sort...I have to say, that although I am still waiting for the real 'physical' proof in my world, Rosemary Altea has done the best job so far of convincing me by words. The stories she tells are extremely interesting and her life story is incredible. She has a truely wonderful gift and I do not doubt her accounts whatsoever.

I am not a very good book reader, I find it difficult to get into books and rarely read. Having said that, I had this book finished in ONE DAY. I couldn't put it down. I hightly recommend this book to anyone searching to educate themselves in regard to spirituality. A very very interesting book.

5.0 out of 5 stars For keeping an open mind.., June 1, 2002
When I was a young teenager I could read a book straight through without putting it down. I've been missing that and then when I came to reading this book it re-occured; I couldn't put it down and there was that wonderful feeling again.

Most of the time I am not on good terms with religion, it creates war if you ask me and therefor I also normally have a hard time reading books that mention God continously through out. However Rosemary has managed to get around my defenses when it comes to that and I could read this book openmindedly.
Reading openheartedly is quite easy for me, but keeping an open mind about things, can be hard sometimes. I found myself respecting her description of what she felt was a God, it was opened enough for me to think of it as something else, anything that my mind wouldn't despise so much. Maybe it helps that her descriptions of certain happenings reminded me of my own experiences. In particular I liked her description of the ether body and then when she went on to tie that together with the "out of body experiences" when you are looking down on your own body - I thought it was phenomenal how well she described it.
-If my words are different than the words used in the book, it's because I have read the Swedish translation of the book..

This is a book to discover yourself in, or to accept and respect yourself for who you are!

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful healing aid, January 16, 2002

This review is from: The Eagle and the Rose: A Remarkable True Story (Mass Market Paperback)
I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. I have never read a book that I couldn't put down. It was given to me by my maternal uncle at a time when I was in need of some healing. No author has ever been able to make me see things so clearly before. This book made me laugh and cry. Ms. Altea is a very telented writer with a knack for storytelling.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Thoroughly Enjoyable Book, October 14, 2001
This review is from: The Eagle and the Rose: A Remarkable True Story (Mass Market Paperback)
This very entertaining book came into my life at a time when I was developing my own psychic and channeling abilities. So I am pleased to say that Ms. Altea provided a role model for my own mediumship and writing career. I highly recommend it. The only drawback to this book? I can't prove this but I suspect some literary license was taken in recreating various scenes. For example: Does Rosemary really "see" guides and other people in the room with her, in the sense that most people see people and objects. Or does she see them in the mind's eye instead, as I and many psychics do? It's a minor point, probably only of interest to fellow channels such as myself. And at some point, I would love to sit down with Rosemary and chat about such things. But the average reader won't be bogged down by these minor particulars. And if you want a fun, uplifting, and heart-warming read? This is the book for you! Who knows? It might just inspire you to develop your own God-given mediumship abilities.

This review is from: The Eagle and the Rose: A Remarkable True Story (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this book. It was very uplifting and hopeful with regard to the future we all face. About 6 months ago, after reading the book and by coincidence, I had the chance to meet Rosemary at her home. What an experience! Any doubt I ever had as to her authenticity was completely removed! She is such a spiritual and sensitive person and I experienced her communication skill first hand. I can only believe that this book is an accurate dipiction of life and death and heaven.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best explanation of the cycle of life force I have ever read, September 4, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Eagle and the Rose: A Remarkable True Story (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book after too many deaths in my life, some from cancer, some from aids and one from suicide. Rosemary Altea speaks from the heart and soul, and at first, like most of us, was not willing to recieve so many valuable tools in such an unorthodox manner. Bless her soul for writing this book! Well written, spellbinding, filled with a sense of wonder, deep spirituality, and love for all of humanity. I particularly enjoy her first person accounts and the way in which she walks you through her own skepticism and finally, affirmation that what happened, truly happened. Great tool for interpreting your own spirituality. BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!

4.0 out of 5 stars This book must stand as a true and valuable contribution., May 18, 1997

This review is from: The Eagle and the Rose: A Remarkable True Story (Mass Market Paperback)
Do you believe in life beyond death? If your answer is no, Rosemary Altea's book The Eagle and the Rose shall convince you. Starting from her personal and strong experience, the author shows that life continues after we die. If we are only passing through this life, towards eternal life, we should consider our sufferings as necessary for rising our spirit. Troubles and difficulties should be considered the very basis of our personal growth. Problems? You should know how to deal with them. And where can we find the key? The Rosemary Altea's formula to deal with them is: act with mildness. Since her youth she's been in contact with the world of the deads and her experience teach us: our mission on earth is learning and grow in an wide sense. Among several issues concerning this matter, this book must stand as a true and valuable contribution. Paulo Roberto Santos Lima (paulo@aracaju.com

4.0 out of 5 stars An Enlightening Spiritual Journey, May 9, 2001
By
Karen M. Varela (Lexington, KY United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Eagle and the Rose: A Remarkable True Story (Mass Market Paperback)
The Eagle and The Rose takes us on one woman's adventures into her experiences with the "spirit" world. Whatever one's thoughts are in regards to life after death, this book will certainly get your mind pondering about the realm of possibilities that each of us will one day encounter.

Rosemary simply tells us what SHE has seen throughout her life. This book is not meant to sway one into believing that they too will be visited by a "ghost" or "lost soul". The purpose of this book, I believe, is to get in touch with one's own spirituality.

The Eagle and The Rose is an enlightening adventure for all of us to read. There are no right or wrong answers, but as individuals we have the power to change our lives and start on a new path towards spiritual healing. Read with an open mind and truely enjoy the journey that Rosemary shares with her readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, October 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Eagle and the Rose: A Remarkable True Story (Mass Market Paperback)
I could not put this book down, and did not want it to end. I had seen Rosemary Altea on a talk show and was throughly intrigued by her. I do feel that there are a lot of "fakes" out there, but strongly feel that she is not one of them. I'm so glad that I decided to read this book and would highly recommend it to everyone who has lost a loved one. It gave me great comfort and also forced me to take a good look at myself and how I treat others. My favorite part of the book were the questions to Grey Eagle (in both this book and in Proud Spirit). I really hope she writes a Book of Questions someday. His answers confirmed the beliefs I've always had, which made me feel I'm on the right track. I look forward to reading more of her books.
