now that I finally got this installed it's awesome for the kids. It's easy to install as long as you have two sturdy (large) trees to connect it too. I did not and had to buy multiple pieces of hardware at a hardware store, and also pour a large concrete anchor deep in the ground (4 foot) so my kids could zipline from their treehouse to a jungle jim / swing set. But it was totally worth it.

Hello, Just to share a bit of my research in case this may be of help to others, since I found the information confusing on which Zip Line kit to purchase until I spent many, many hours comparing information (Amazon & Ebay) and comparing reviews as well. The difference between the Eagle and the Hawk (Both produced by Brand 44) is the Eagle includes a seat (good to know if you have small children, however you can add a seat to the Hawk). Both otherwise appear to be the exact stainless steel cable 3/16" (choose your length carefully since one reviewer mentioned getting a 63' when ordering a 70'---This seems to be mentioned only once however, it could be a fluke)

The most important thing to me is safety & durability, both the Eagle and the Hawk have steel bearings, which are logically very important since they will get wear with use and hold up better to the elements. I immediately narrowed down my selection to this brand when I found out that major difference. (Both have a generous 200+ weight capacity, I've read conflicting information on the weight between 200-250 lbs., so I would assume the lesser just to be on the safe side)

;Make sure to plan ahead and buy or I opted to make a tree hugger to protect the tree or post, if you read the reviews the protective cover seem to be overpriced wood strips and astro-turf with velcro. I'm going to experiment & will let you know the results.

Hope this information will help other newbie zip line researchers, good luck & safe Zipping, and have a fun summer!

This 70' zipline arrived as scheduled and complete no worries there. Rather more difficult than we had expected for installation. It is hard to get enough tension developed in the line to reduce deflection to the specified [4" @200lbs] tension when on a ladder at either 7 or 10 feet in the air. Really needed to have a come-along to pull it out. We used 2x4's to protect the trees and to take up some of the slack. note that this method is only partially successful as the system needs to have some space in the loop at either end.
Since we installed it for the grandkids, heck they're happy but with too much sag in the line adults get only a so so roll. [Except the 7 yr old -Can it go higher? I want to go faster?]
We would also suggest that anyone planning to install between trees get a tree protection kit. Without protection the cable will cut through the bark and fatally damage the tree.
Would we repeat the purchase. Yes.

The zip line works great. But be aware that the line is 1/4'', not 3/8" thick. Also, make sure to you-tube how to put up a zip line and watch a video on the proper way to wrap the line around trees without cutting into them. I used 3 short pieces of 1x4 wood screwed to 1st tree, wrapped the short cable around the tree and boards, and with the turnbuckle that was provided I attached the 70' line to the short cable. I then made a loop at the other end of the cable using the three cable clamps, also provided. I was about 12' short of the 2nd tree but I had some extra 3/8" cable that I made loops in on both ends with extra clamps I had and then attached that short cable to the end of the 70' line and the other end of 3/8" cable to a hefty chain I had wrapped around tree #2. According to a video I saw, it said both methods work very well and neither will allow cable to cut into the tree. It's true. Both methods worked great, as I just wanted to try each. You can buy any extra cables, clamps, wood, chain, and turnbuckles at Home Depot.

Now, it takes at least two adults to pull the line tight enough to get it attached to chain on tree #2. I then just tightened the turnbuckle some to take out some of the slack. I purposely left a belly in the middle of my zip line, so that my young grandkids can just scrape the ground with their feet if they don't pick them up a little, and I put the chain about 1.5 ' lower than the starting line attached to the cable at tree #1. This seems to be just about perfect for the speed and safety I was looking for. It goes plenty fast enough for them. And be careful on the ladders as they have a tendency to tip when trying to stretch the line. I didn't need a cum-a-long winch, but if the line was 100' or so, I'm sure that would've been needed.

This was awesome for my grandkids. Husband set it up in less than an hour and we couldn't get the kids off! Perfect for any age. The 70 feet is just enough for the 4 and 5 year olds. I want to get another set a little longer! Cris Gagaliano

Very good product and easy to assemble. Only complaint: When they say "70 feet Zipline" they really mean it! You end up with several feet less because you have to wrap the end around the second tree. So be sure that the trees you choose are no more than 65 feet apart (less, if it's a really big tree).
