5.0 out of 5 stars Chan not the hero!
WOW! What a strange movie for a "Jacky Chan" flic. He ISN'T the main charachter! There's everything a buff could want, though, from a supporting role; including strong plot, awesome fight sequences, and cool cinematography. Needless to say, the end fight scene is excellent. Even has funny dubbed voices. This one is on FILM, folks :) Chan looks barely 25...

1.0 out of 5 stars Lo Wei produced rip-off!, August 15, 2001
By A Customer
This movie was made in 1973 and originally called "Not Scared to Die". When Jackie made the 1978 movie "Snake in the Eagle's Shadow", which is consider an excellent kung-fu comedy, Lo Wei tried to capitalize on this by retitling this 1973 movie "In Eagle Shadow's Fist" or just "Eagle's Shadow Fist". Jackie only has a supporting role and is killed in this movie. It's a lousy, morbid movie. Avoid this one!

1.0 out of 5 stars because 0 stars was not an option!, July 22, 2000

This early supporting role by Jackie Chan will leave you wondering how he ever got another. In this he plays a resistance fighter during WW2 against the eeeeeeeeeevil Japanese, and his acting is so bad that you're almost relieved when the Japs finally kill him near the end, in one of the goriest death scenes ever. This film is relentlessly grim and gruesome, not even worth the price of a rental unless you're a crazed, masochistic fan who just can't get enough Jackie.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice old schooler, December 4, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Fist of Anger [VHS] (VHS Tape)
aka: "Not Scared to Die"

The only thing to understand about this early 70's movie
is that it was very early in Jackie's career (he
looks like he was about 20) and that he has a 'very'
minor role. The lead star is actually a guy named
Wang Ching, an old Shaw veteran who typically played
villain roles (he's recognizable by his gap teeth), which
is part of this movie's novel appeal for me. The story is about a chinese opera troup who get brutalized by some (typically
evil) Japanese soldiers - actually the soldiers are brutalizing
everyone and Wang steps in. The fights are particularly bloody
and the tone of this movie is quite heavy (more than usual - hong kong and the mainland would eventually turn to making kung-fu comedies), but it grows on you.

Those tender souls hoping for some of Jackie's peek-a-boo
boxing and light-heartedness had better role on and huddle up with their copies of Rush Hour, because this is not the movie to get for all of those antics! If you like old-skool, or are a Chan die-hard, or just curious, this movie is worth checking out.
I just wish I knew who played the two main villains!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother, May 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Eagle Shadow Fist [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This movie is grim and gory. Jackie Chan has only a small role, and he is so young you can hardly recognize him (he has a crew cut and his permanent teeth haven't even finished growing in!) There is no humor here, but lots of gore (Jackie dies toward the end). If I could I would give it 0 stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars Your basic Chinese vs. Jap movie., May 18, 2000

My uncle lended this movie to me, and I didn't know that Jackie Chan didn't have the Main Role! And he also played the role of Caesar? C'mon, guys. This film is made in 1973, the time when Bruce Lee made "Enter The Dragon". It also had Ho Lee Yan (Who played the "Old Man" in ETD) who played the Uncle of the family which the 2 heroes lived with. This Chinese resistance family had to deal with the Japs just as they were the Syndicate! But the bad news...is that Caesar (Chan) bleeds to death BIG TIME by the Jap henchmen. And the way the Japs killed the remaining resistance fighters before the main hero comes to save them was too gory, talk about a child being thrown to the boulder HEAD FIRST! UGH! Don't buy this movie if it's too bloody for you.

This review is from: Eagle Shadow Fist [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I agree with the previous review, and I beg you not to waste your time and money with this movie. The fight scenes are poorly choreographed and the storyline is hokey (but not in the traditional Chan way).

PLEASE DO NOT BUY ME!
