This is the 2nd of these that I've purchased. I'm using WD Scorpio Black 320GBs and they're whisper quiet in the enclosure(s). Hard drives are easy to put in, the enclosure is sturdy and professional in appearance, but there is one minor flaw. The length of the USB cable is extremely short. There is only enough length for the cable to be bent at 90 degrees but that is about it. However, it does come with an extension cable. Obviously, having purchased a second enclosure, I think the benefits outweigh this one issue.

Felt compelled to write a review as there's a lot of junk out there. Amazon sells the Vantec, and you can find cheap enclosures all over the net. As someone that has personally purchased THREE (3) sub-10 dollar SATA enclosures in the past year, only to have ALL OF THEM be unsatisfactory (screws that don't fit, chips that are flimsy, absolute need for TWO USB connections to power, etc), this is the first one that has felt solid, the screws fit great, and for some reason, I only need the one USB connector to power my 100GB SATA drive. This is the enclosure to get. Avoid the cheap stuff.

No hard drive inside beware,

I don't like the fact I thought this case doesn't contain a hard drive inside of it. The advertising can fool you. Wish I would have known this.
