Best money I ever spent!,
By
This review is from: The Eagles Encyclopedia (Hardcover)
Ray Didinger has always been my favorite Philadelphia Eagles sports writer. I couldn't wait to read his articles. His stories made the whole game that much better. He knows the team, the history, and takes you into the locker room of every Eagles team and the key players that we all know and remember. If the Eagles lost, he captured how we felt and expressed our thoughts for us, and when they won his writings made the celebration all the more fun. Mr. Didinger is the ultimate authority on the Eagles and his style makes every story in this encyclopedia most enjoyable. As a die-hard Eagles fan this was the best money I've ever spent. I especially love the stories about Chuck Bednarik and Tommy McDonald. Didinger also includes great insight behind the stadiums, Franklin Field, Vet Stadium and now the Linc. It's all here, all the great postseason games, the strange and unusual things that have come and gone with the Eagles and he brings us right up to the present day Eagles lead by the heroic Donovan McNabb, Brian Dawkins, Brian Westbrook, and T.O. Chock full of statistics too. And he descibes what it's like to be an Eagle's Fan, how crazy and passionate we are, like only he can. He knows this city, this team, these fans, our dreams, our frustrations and our hopes. I can't say enough good things. It compliments the "The Complete History of the Eagles" DVD (which came out about a year ago). This book is a lively page-turner and a real treasure for us fans.

Ray Didinger and Robert S. Lyons have written an outstanding history of the Eagles in encyclopedia form. The book is well organized and written. It packed full of facts and data covering players, seasons and the front office. The book will bring the fan back alot of memories. I highly recommend it.

A comprehensive easy read. Full of facts, and interesting stories about the franchise that is really "America's" team. Little bios of many of the personalities that have worn the green and white. Every time I opened up the book there was something new to learn. Written for the everyday Joe, you will not be dissapointed if you love the Eagles. The Eagles are my squad so this may be slightly biased... Shout out to Randall...

Ray Didinger is a true gem in Philadelphia. Very few people are respected more for their knowledge of the game. Howard Eskin wishes he was as good as Ray!

The articles on the individual coaches & players is very informative, this alone makes it a must read for any Eagles fan. There is also a comprehensive record of individual & team records plus a year by year run down on the team. The only thing missing is a won-lost record overall, by teams, home & away. Would make a great gift for all your Eagle die-hards.

Best Book I've Ever Read---Must Have,
This review is from: The Eagles Encyclopedia (Hardcover)
I am a [...] student and I have read the entire Eagles Encyclopedia. I am a consistent reader and, being one of the biggest Eagles fans, have to say this is my favorite book of all time. It consists of everything you want and need to know to be a true Eagles fan. I would even recommend this to non-Eagles fans. It includes:*The Frankford Yellowjackets *Bert Bell and the founding of the Eagles *All of the big time Eagles players in history *A complete recap of the Eagles greatest moments including The Miracle in the Meadowlands, Cunninghams 91 yard punt, 99 yards:Jaworski to Quick, and more. *An All-Time Roster *Scores and Schedule for every Philadelphia Eagles season and more! I highly recommend this book to everyone. Ray Didinger is an amazing writer and I also recommend his latest book "One Last Read."

The book is really great. The history of Philadelphia football is very good. The stats are absolutely remarkable. I often refer to the book during an Eagles game. Every Eagles fan should own this gem.
