5.0 out of 5 stars Best investment ever!, July 13, 2010

I purchased this hammock for all my future outdoor trips after doing extensive research on every company who makes/ sells hammocks. Some people might prefer to buy a system that is "all-inclusive" (i.e. - with bug net and rainfly attached). I'm not one of those people. I prefer to have control of what I pack depending on the journey. I was hoping to try it out in the wilderness first, but as luck would have it the family reunion that I'm currently on took priority. I think everyone in the family thought I was crazy for bringing it up to Minneapolis since we'd be at a condo (instead of outdoors and closer to trees). However, the patio area has two perfectly spaced columns that have worked out well! Every evening I'll set it up in a matter of minutes, lay in and just watch the stars till I fall asleep.

The hammock itself is a perfect size with more than enough room to spare (I'm 5'10" and around a buck 90). Others have complained that this hammock is too restraining. It's a travel hammock...not a king size bed or one of those hammocks that come with a metal frame. The material, cord, biners and overall construction of the hammock are top notch! I looked at the slap straps that ENO sells and instead of spending an extra $20 for the straps, I just purchased two lengths of climbers webbing at 1 in x 9 feet each for a total cost of $3.45. I would advice this for others who are buying this hammock or any hammock in lieu of pre-made straps. A simple bowline or waterknot with some backup ties does the trick and you can set the connection loop where you want instead of where the manufacturer has sewn it in. That is another issue I had with the pre-made slap straps. Eventually, the stitching for the sewn loops will fray due to exposure to the elements and use. I'd rather spend my money on other gear.

The third party I purchased the hammock from (Goliath) rocks! I got it a day earlier than expected. I would definitely buy from them again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, June 21, 2010

This thing is amazing! I have it hanging on my back patio and love using it. When pack up its smaller than a football and light weight. Left it out in the rain the other night and it was dry by morning. Feels exactly like a parachute. I am 5'6" and around 200 lbs... not a little girl...and this thing works great for me. Plenty of room but it is a single. I would not attempt to put another person in it with me even if I was lighter and we would be under the weight limit. It's just not made for two.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, very slick, August 2, 2011
Pros: Very compact, great design, super comfortable, slick and convenient. Also, sets up in five minutes with pretty much no hassle.

Cons: Very thin nylon, but seems durable. Sleeps kinda goofy because it squeezes your shoulders inward.

Overall: Amazing item, no complaints at all. Carabiners are high quality and paracord is tough.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Way To Camp!!, August 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this on Amazon after trying one out on a recent river rafting trip. This is definitely the way to sleep when camping!

The material is strong parachute nylon and very comfortable. It cradles me perfectly and I am 6 feet tall and 240lbs.

I just used it on a camping trip this weekend and I was having to tell others to go get their own! There was always someone in it, enjoying the comfort.

I bought the PRO Slap Straps. Amazon doesn't tell you the difference between the regular straps & Pro straps, so I had to go to the REI web site to read about the difference.

The Pro is 24" longer than the regular straps. Its better for fitting around big trees. The Pro worked well for me, with no issues. They barely take up any room when stored. The hammock itself folds extremely small into an attached pack. It also takes up hardly any room and is very light weight.

I also saw other campers at other campsites using truck bed tie down straps with the ratchet to hang their hammocks from trees. It appeared to work, but I would guess that they cost as much or more than the pro straps.

I would highly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Most amazing hammock I have ever used., July 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I recently purchased one for backpacking, and after the wife tried it out for 10 minutes she decided to get one herself. This is a quality product, well built, compact, and comfortable. My only gripe is the stitching used to attach the bag to the tie down clip came undone the first time I used it. This is mostly cosmetic, and even without the clip the bag is extremely small.

Buying another one for the wife so I can enjoy mine.

She recently received hers, and we both ended up sleeping outside on our last camping trip with these, love them.

5.0 out of 5 stars ENO single hammock, July 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This hammock is of excellent quality. The stitching is very strong all around, and the material itself seems very durable. Being that it is nylon however, it could probably tear easily if you have any sharp objects on you and it would probably light up pretty quick if it took a spark. But, if taken care of properly, this hammock seems like it would last a very long time. The material is very light weight and the pouch that it stuffs into is very easy to used and small enough to carry any where. I have slept in this hammock a few times and I can say that it is very comfortable. I live in a pretty warm climate and the material breathes pretty well in warm weather. It would have been nice if it came with straps to mount it, but I had some extra paracord laying around and it worked just fine. I was able to fit two twelve foot lengths of it in the pouch along with the hammock. This is a great all around hammock.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, October 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Amazing. Very compact. Very comfortable. Set it up in my college dorm by just screwing some screw eyes into the wall. Easy to put up and take down. Takes seconds. When using the straps for trees takes no time at all either. Great product. One of my best purchases ever

4.0 out of 5 stars ENO Single Nest, September 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Good:
* Very thin material (packs to less than the size of a 32oz nalgene & very light)
* Comfortable (I am 6'4" 220lbs)
* Simple set up
* Cheapest pre-made hammock I could find
* attached stuff sack is a nice touch

Bad:
* Some of the sewing on the ends of the hammock has started to pull out after 4-5 uses
* Gathered ends sometimes slip off ropes when packed and need slid back over

My only real concern is the sewing. It has not seemed to cause any problems yet. I burned the loose threads with a lighter to hopefully stop the unraveling. I would advise one to practice setting it up before taking it out. Also another con for hammocks in general is that they do not keep a layer of air around you like a tent. So in colder months or if you are a cold sleeper you will need extra equipment to stay warm.

4.0 out of 5 stars eno is a side sleepers dream, August 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Backpacking is my primary use for this hammock, so with that in mind ill say this is great. I am a side sleeper as stated, so with an inflatable pillow and the correct adjustments set on my slap straps I'm in for a beautiful night of rest. I primarily use this for a 3 season hammock( fall spring and summer), and have had no problems keeping warm enough. For thoose colder nights I use a wool blanket and a space blanket and I am fine. Things to keep in mind when purchasing a hammock: ease of setup(+1 for eno) , comfort(+1), and accessories either attached or seperate. The only thing I would change about my eno is that I would like to have an integral bug net( meaning one that zips along the mating line of bugnet and hammock). This is Def a great hammock for lounging in as it is 5 ft wide. So all in all for weight and comfort I give this hammock 4 stars( only because I had to buy a seperate bug net and straps)
