As a hammock (Clark NX250) camper, I immediately saw the value of having this for the small things that you like to have handy at night and even in the day time. I use mine for my headlamp temperature/clock guage, iPhone and ear buds. It works effortlessly and comes with it's own little stuff sack. I ran a separate ridgeline under my tarp for it and it works very well providing you keep the weight down. If you start to put too much into it (and who doesn't?) then you will need to take a couple of small carabiners and hook into the tarp ridgeling above to help support it. This will keep it from hanging too low and interfering with your hammock's mosquito netting and weather cover. Overall, well built, useful, and easy to pack.

the biggest problem with this item is that it is not self evident what it is for. When hammock camping typically there are two different ridge lines that people use, one for the tarp and one for the hammock. It is confusing which of these ridge lines this item was intended to be.

Typically you put an organizer on the structural ridge line on your hammock, however I dont know that the cord used here would be strong enough, that and its WAYYY to long for that.

But if you use it for a tarp ridge line you could easily have your gear organizer be very high above your hammock and not really accessible.

all that being said its really two items. a tarp ridge line and a gear organizer. Its a good tarp organizer but not great, and its a good tarp ridge line but not great.

on the tarp front its essentially a long piece of chord with several adjustable hooks along its length with fixed hooks on the ends. You can hook the two ends to trees or hook one end and leave the other end slack using one of the adjustable hooks to fasten to a closer tree. then using some adjustable hooks fasten the tarp over the ridge line with the hooks in the gromets. then you have a couple hooks left over hang lanterns on them or the gear organizer, making sure to hang the tarp low enough that you can reach it in your hammock. I have used it a couple times this way and it works ok given the slack issue of the ends and the hight issue. the item would be better if it had mini carabiners instead of the plastic hooks and if ALL of the pieces were adjustable. then you look at the thing and kick your self as you realize how easily you could make an improved version all by your self from mini biners and parachord.

on the organizer front.

I haven't actually used this yet, but it looks like a great pouch for my hammock ridgeline. It will work great for my small items, to keep them near. I hope to use it within the next week, on a camping trip.
