Don't Buy These!,
By "jmc_sf" (san francisco, ca United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: EarHugger AV-2000 Earbud-Style Headphone (Electronics)
I bought these last year, not from Amazon, but a retail store. The damn things will stay ON your ears, but not IN your ear. The speaker portion does not fit correctly, and you have to twist them to fit optmially. However, they won't stay in place for long. I suggest looking for another product...

Fit, yes. Durability, no.,

I've owned three pairs so I think I'm qualified to comment. The fact that I've owned that many tells you two things. First, the plus side. As a runner I've found no better product for staying in place as I bounce through miles and miles of radio play ... I put them on and they stay on without hassle. No, they don't rest snugly and deep in your ear, but they don't need to. Besides, I've found that snug earbud designs on other units are prone to slipping out and off anyway. The sound quality is just fine for my undiscriminating listening. On the minus side, these don't last long. I've averaged 4-12 months each time for the three I've owned. Granted, I run with them 6 days a week in all kinds of weather. First one ear goes dead, and a month or two later both sides are kaput. The volume slide-control tends to get rusty and sticks, so forget that feature (it's full-on or full-off eventually). Death invariable comes with unconcious tug on cord, fraying a too-weak connection at the slide control. On a more minor note, the foam slip covers for the earbuds pop off sometimes, but these easily slip back on. Bottom line: can't beat the stay-put-ness of the ear hug design ... but if durability is important, find a different product.

Great fit but poor sound quality,

I bought these to go jogging with a minidisc player. The fit is terrific: they stayed on my head with no trouble during a two-hour run, and my ears felt no chafing, pinching or any other discomfort at any time. Unfortunately, the sound quality is poor. Unlike the full sound of the headphones that came with my minidisc player, these headphones have a tinny, trebly sound that makes a number of instruments sound shrill (including saxophone, trumpets, and strings) and can make a rich, gutsy voice sound throaty. It's sort of like listening to AM radio. The sound quality is not awful, but it's not good enough for me. I wish I had spent a little more for better sound.

mediocre sound quality and a battery eater,

They are weak in the high frequency range. They require a lot of power to drive them. I have to change the batteries on my Rio500 MP3 player every 6 hours instead of the 13 hours advertised. I know it's the headphones because I have to turn my MP3 player's volume almost to the max when using them, but need only 25% of the volume for other headphones. The volume control is very handy though.

I ordered this product at the beginning of Sept and it's already broken at the beginning of October. And it's just past the 30 day return limit so I'm stuck with broken headphones......

I am using these headphones with my CD player when I am at the gym. I wanted some that wouldn't get in the way and would stay in comfortably. I have tried the regular ear buds before but sometimes they would become akward or would shake a little loose after some time on a cardio machine. These earhuggers are soft around the ears and have an adjustable volume on the cord. Great for working out. If they last me for awhile after bring thwon in my gym bag over and over than they deserve the 5 stars!

Great find for a runner!,

These have lasted me over a year, and I run and walk in any weather. AND I run hard, so they took a lot of beating. Plus I throw my walkman in my bag where I gets squashed with all the other junk I carry around for school, work and workouts. Also, if you train hard, you don't want your million dollar equipment destroyed, so for the price especially - this is a find!

I wasn't sure if I should buy these headphones because of the mixed reviews. I did buy them and I had to write a review for them. I have to say that the sound quality is not the best but the reason I purchesed these headphones was because of the size, I needed some headphones that I could carry around in my pocket, bag, ect. and I couldn't take my "studio" style ones everywhere so I decided to get these. For the price I think they are an ok buy.

Ok the thing is is that they really do fit well. BUT! The sound is reversed, the instromentals (spelling?) are put louder and the vocals are bearly there. and i know that the tape was working so... don't get it though it's not very good at all.
