The only headphones for me,

I may have smaller ears than most adults, because every other earbud on the market is painful and refuses to stay in place for me. These are entirely comfortable and have enough flex that the buds can be shifted nearer to or away from the ear canal if I want to switch to conversation with real people while leaving the clips resting over the ears. These are not noise-isolating, which means they leave something to be desired when on an airplane, but they're fine in an office and safe to wear on the street. The volume control does not go all the way down to silent. The lightweight nature of this design, while essential to the excellent comfort (and its excellent price), is also its one flaw: A pair lasts only about a year (daily use, rugged treatment, bending and tugging and sometimes hanging the weight of the mp3 player on the cord) before the stress on the wire starts loosening connections and one side or the other starts fading away. And every year it gets harder to find a replacement. (Last year I found them at Radio Shack, under a store brand, but they're not there now.) So I try some other kind, and always decide I have to scour the world for these again. I've been going through this cycle since 2001. Next time I find them, I'm buying a dozen. (Feel free to contact me if you know where I should look.)
