5.0 out of 5 stars NO more ear pain
I have been using EarPlanes for almost ten years now. In 1992, I had a very bad flight experience with severe ear pain and several days of hearing loss - this was quite unexpected although I'd had some minor discomfort previously which was relieved by chewing gum or taking a pre-flight decongestant. 5.0 out of 5 stars NO more ear pain, March 15, 2004

I have been using EarPlanes for almost ten years now. In 1992, I had a very bad flight experience with severe ear pain and several days of hearing loss - this was quite unexpected although I'd had some minor discomfort previously which was relieved by chewing gum or taking a pre-flight decongestant. I will not fly without getting a pair of EarPlanes. An added benefit, particularly if you are flying alone, is that ambient noise is quieted, making it easier to read or otherwise concentrate on relaxation; you can still hear announcements. If the flight is long enough you can safely remove the EarPlanes while the aircraft is at cruising altitude. I have only used the adult version of EarPlanes but based on my experiences with them I would recommend that parents keep a pair on hand for each child - you never know if you're going to start needing them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Necessity for Flying, May 27, 2004
This review is from: EarPlanes Earplugs, Flight Ear Protection - 3 pr (Health and Beauty)
I agree whole-heartedly with the previous reviewer. I fly often for business and to visit family. Before EarPlanes it was not uncommon for me to be in tears from the pain of pressure changes on take-off, landing and even in-flight. No more! I usually leave the EarPlanes in throughout the flight if the duration is less than 4 hours. They protect against sudden changes due to turbulence or the pilot changing altitudes. I also love the decreased noise since the engines can be quite loud. I have recently flown a number of times with my infant son and I have no trouble interacting with him or recognizing his needs. (I was a little worried about that due to the noise reduction.) Finally, this price is absolutely the best one I have ever seen for this product and well-worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars NO MORE PAIN!, September 24, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: EarPlanes Earplugs, Flight Ear Protection - 3 pr (Health and Beauty)
I just wanted to add to the other reviews and praise this product to the very highest capacity. I have had trouble with my ears all my life, but about 10 years ago I had my eardrum punctured accidentally in the doctor's office during a cleaning. Well you can imagine how unpleasant that became at flight time...Made me want to rule out flying entirely, as those few horribly painful moments were hard to forget.

Last year I found these Earplanes online and after reading a few reviews decided to try them thinking, " what can I lose? " Well, I went to London and used them beginning and end, on both to and from flights...Remarkable. Just remarkable. I was so scared at first. Then, as we ascended, ....nothing...No pain. NOTHING at all...The same thing on the descent. When I first experienced it, I almost cried I was so happy. I know, you must be thinking that I am being a bit melodramatic. But honestly, once you have had severe ear pain, ...well, those of you who are thinking about buying this product know very well what I am talking about. All I can say to you is I sincerely hope that you try this product. I do believe that it will be the answer to you ear trauma of any sort. SOMEHOW those little accordian -like structures inside the tubes contract and expand, taking all the shock that your ear does not have to. Trust me. NO really. Try these. From then on, you will have one less thing to be apprehensive about when flying, and in this day and age, every little bit counts.
Best regards..

This review is from: EarPlanes Earplugs, Flight Ear Protection - 3 pr (Health and Beauty)
Got a cold? Have to fly? Don't leave home without them. I have used these ear plugs on two separate trips when I had a bit of a cold - they work wonderfully. Follow the directions and you should be golden.

I only wish I would have found these 10 years ago!!! I am always in tears in baggage claims in every airport and it is annoying, painful and can really damper the mood of a vacation!!
I flew with these and it was if I had never even flown. I was apprehensive about them really working but now I will never leave the ground without them! Thank you whoever invented these little miracle gadgets!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfort Flying with EarPlanes EarPlugs, July 29, 2005

I am a long time user of EarPlanes Ear Plugs. Whenever someone complains of ear problems I tell them how this product alleviates any discomfort with flying during takeoff and landings. The length of earplanes is just right and keeps them in place. They fit comfortably and can be carried in small carrying case provided with order of three or more. I just had two friends return from airline travel after following my recommendation to use earplanes. Each said they do work and made a difference in their flight comfort. You bet, they as well as me will continue using them.
