Johnnie Taylor was one of the last of the soul greats. Eargasm found him at his commercial peak. "Disco Lady" was the hit, a concession to the formula of the day. But buried deep in this set were two of his greatest sides. "Running Out Of Lies" and "Pick Up The Pieces" are very much in the Stax/Volt mold. Heavy blues, the kind you don't get to hear much of anymore. Taylor would go on to make some very good cd's, but stick with this one. essential.

MY Grandmother use ta have this on 8 Track.and we would be Grooving Too it.Shake It Up Shake It DOwn Move it in Move it Out Disco Lady Your'e SO FIne You Should Be On The SOUL TRAIN.You Never Forget that Groove&The Other Great Material Here.This Brother Was Bad.He had Such Force&Power in His VOice.Very Essential.

Good music. You just can't go wrong with a Johnnie Taylor CD.

this was another of johnnie taylor greatest he had the beat in with disco lady which was awesome, then he kind of laid back with please don't stop,running out of lies, somebody's gettin it,to put all together the man is just tough and he knew it that's what i liked about him.he have the voice,looks, dollars, and sense and knew just what to do with it. bottom line is i just love me some johnnie taylor.......whatever he sings

This CD is great. JT at his best... Running out of Lies hits on all points. Makes you remember the old days even if you aren't old. Johnny Taylor is what R&b music is all about! Well named "Eargasm"...Sweet music to my ears!

AGAIN, J.T. HAS SHOWN VERSATILITY AND EXQUISITE SOUNDS! THE MAN CAN JUST SANG! ANYONE WHO IS A FAN, MUST HAVE THIS IN THEIR COLLECTION! THE EXTENDED VERSION OF DISCO LADY SAYS IT ALL!

What can i say,for me to try and convince someone to purchase material from The Late Great JOHNNIE TAYLOR is an insult to not only the soul legend but blues/soul lovers everywhere.This is a wonderful edition to your collection.If this is your first album by J.T. don't even bother because you would not understand.His name alone should be credible.

WOW! JT@his best! The only CD that compares in this era was "Just Aint Good Enough".
