Product Description

Earl Jean is just one of those designers that consistently comes up with great looking, great feeling denim designs. Their Blue Moon 72 Jeans have been given a light enzyme wash for a soft hand feel. Whiskers around the pockets and at the hem add a modern touch to the styling. And gentle hand-sanding and light grinding give them a worn-in look. So simple to slip on with your favorite old t-shirt, these jeans will surely become one of your favorite pairs to wear.

About Earl Jean
The brainchild of former television and film stylist Suzanne Costas Friewald, Earl Jean was created in 1996 out of pure necessity. The Los Angeles based Costas Friewald, who for years had been tailoring her own vintage denim, found herself in a bind when her favorite jeans were stolen from the local Laundromat. It was at that time her then boyfriend and now husband encouraged her to design the low slung, slim fitting jeans she had always loved. The result, Earl Jean’s style #55, created an immediate sensation amongst her friends. Soon a buzz began spreading throughout the fashion industry.

The following year, Costas Friewald landed her first order, from Los Angeles’ chic Fred Segal and Earl Jean was officially born. After gaining instant cult following in fashion circles on both coasts, it was not long before news of the original, great fitting, dark denim jeans spread across the country. With their low rise, slim silhouette and unparalleled attention to detail, Earl Jean redefined denim by giving it a sexy, contemporary flair. Earl continued to introduce new styles, washes and fabrications--such as leather and corduroy--without ever losing sight of the quality and sex appeal for which they are known. The line continued to grow steadily to include woven shirts, skirts, tees, and outerwear.

In October 2000, the first freestanding Earl Jean Boutique opened in Los Angeles’ hip Larchmont area, followed by a store on Tokyo’s Cat Street a month later. New York’s Mercer Street location in SoHo opened in November of 2001 and Osaka, Japan opened in March of 2002. In May 2003, the first European freestanding store opened on London’s chic Ledbury Road, in Notting Hill.
