I have had an Earl since birth, when my Father put him in my crib. Throughout my childhood, Earl and I were inseperable. Now that I look back on it, it was a little wierd giving a child a "dead cat" to play with. At that age though you don't notice, and I turned out great.
Please note: I've had an Earl for over 22 years, he is easily stitched back together and very durable. That is why I am buying a new one, for my Dad for father's day.

I got Earl back in the late eighties. We took a road trip through the eastern states to Washington DC with him hanging from our car windows, sticking out of the trunk, stuck in the door, etc. We had people taking pictures as we drove on the highways, videotaping, cracking up. He brought us much joy and amusement. How sad I was when he was ripped in two when someone tried to steal him from the trunk. They only got his head.

I bought my Earl in 1985. Where he has hung from a noose in my bedrooms, until 1997 ( I got married and my wife wouldn't have it). I retired him to an obscure corner where he lay ( I am in the military so he has been all over the world ) however I had to keep him in out of plain sight. He looks like he did when I first got him, it is even hard to tell that he hung from his neck for 11 years. He did yellow a bit from me being a smoker. Funny I washed him and he looks great. For a gag toy he is really put together well. I great gift in my opinion.
