Doesn't work on dark fabrics.,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Earlex RayCop - Mattress Vacuum Cleaner With Micro-Organism Killing UV Light (Kitchen)
This works well on very light fabrics but doesn't on colored or darker fabrics. If you have anything but white sheets and comforter etc. it doesn't turn the light on. It is a little cumbersome to use but would be great if the light turned on to do the job for every color and shade. I returned it. Too pricey for what it did.

Disregard Negative Reviews,
By Sensual Satine (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews

I have serious allergies to dust mites/bed bugs. I've purchased various sprays that are non-toxic but they were smelly & instructions were vague. I didn't notice any reduction in my symptoms (swollen puffy eyes, sore throat, etc).
I liked the fact that I wouldn't be spraying something on my mattress/linens that could damage them, or have to wait for the bed/linens to dry, there are no odors, and don't have to continually buy more. I've researched encasements for mattresses, pillows, etc - the really good ones are quite pricey, so this is a suitable solution for now. The instructions indicate if you have a non-new mattress, to use it daily for a week, and then you can switch to using once a month. I've only used it for a few days (I did my mattress & pillows at least 5x the first time) The 'stuff' in the disposal cup was not a lot, but there was definitely a lot taken off my mattress of 7 years. I'm attaching a pic that I took after dumping the first one, and redoing the mattress/pillows the 3rd - 5th time. I have vacuumed my mattress at least 2x a month prior to this, so what was extracted was impressive. After each use, it has a little filter you pop out to rinse with water. It indicates there is another filter that should be replaced every 12-18 months & the UV light should be replaced every 2-3 years. I've searched around a lot to see if there are any professional reviews from Allergy docs & experts about the amount of dust mite reduction by using this device. I haven't found any. I'll update after I've finished the week of vacuuming to report if I notice any improvement in my allergy response.

This one has hepa filter compared to Verillux.,

I own a Verillux big wand sanitizer and also a travel wand. I use them to sanitize my bed, cell phone, shoes, make up brushes, computer keyboard, etc. I've never heard of the RayCop brand, but when I saw this item at Marshalls for $59.99, I grabbed it right away, because I knew that the Verillux bed vacuum sells for $130, excluding tax and shipping charges.
I used the RayCop bed vacuum as soon as I got home; and got excited to see a layer of thin dust forming on the hepa filter, which was visible through a clear cover. The hepa filter keeps the little eggs and crawlers inside the vacuum cleaner, compared to Verillux, which doesn't have a hepa filter. This RayCop vacuum and sanitizer also shakes the surface first through vibration, then kills the dust mites, etc, with the UV light and then vacuums them up. It has 3 settings, so that you dont always have to do the 3-steps. It has a 350-watt power, so it does an excellent job sucking up the tiniest of particles. RayCop's website is also impressive, and you can feel secure knowing that you've purchased a first quality product. Would you feel comfortable learning that after a couple of years, your old pillows are somewhat weighted down by bacteria or dust mites? Yeiks! BTW, don't make your bed as soon as you get up. Let it breathe! I'd give it 5 stars if the noise isn't loud. But the bed is higher than the floor, and therefore the loud noise is closer to our ears. Oh well...
