This review is from: The Early Diary of Anais Nin, Vol. 3 (1923-1927) (Paperback)
The great virtue of the Anais Nin diaries is that they give a detailed tracking of her thoughts and actions throughout almost her entire life. You see the germination of ideas and how they play out in her life. You see both the consistencies and inconsistencies of a human life. It is possible to know this woman as you have never known anyone, even yourself, and all in truly wonderful lucid prose. It is also possible to see how her opinions of people change throughout the course of her association with them. Reading them is not only a wonderful introduction to her; it is a wonderful introduction to all of human nature, in the person of one woman.
