OUTSTANDING ELLINGTON, November 21, 2007

Quite simply, this is one of the best Ellington cds ever offered, in the opinion of one who owns around six Ellington cds. It's early Ellington when the Duke was young and bursting with new creative ideas, before he became an institution. If you just want one Ellington cd, this is the one to buy. If you have a few, this will be a worthwhile addition to your collection. If you have a complete set of all his recordings, you don't need it.
