After buying and reading the first book in this series several years ago, I came out to myself as a lesbian. Eventually I came out to my friends and family as well. The Early Embraces books are lifesavers. I don't know if I would have had the courage to come out back then if it hadn't been for Lindsey Elder and her brave team of writers. I enjoyed the second volume, as well, but I must say that this volume, by far, contains the most well-written and diverse stories of the series. Romantic, sweet, and hot, these stories are mini works of art!

I looved this book! It was at turns, poignant, funny, sad, romantic, and at times very very erotic. I recommend this book to all women who are either out or considering it. I thought Hilary Watson's "Lesbian Single's Party" and "Fumbling" by Alicia Bramm were wickedly funny. Lamia Dewlap's "So Began My Life as a Maltreated Lesbian Gigola" is the work of a gifted writer. I can't wait for the next volume to come out.

I like the books written by the author. She's detailed and it's just very good.

My friend Femerson and I bought this book in a fit of madness before going to see a cut-rate production of Macbeth at A Noise Within. However, it quickly became the main staple of our lives. This is so much more than just bad lesbian erotica! It is the BIBLE! If you like softball players, crossdressing husbands, spicy latinas, chicks in the US Coast Guard, really really tall women, senile grandma orgies, nipple clamps, and fruit used in scary ways, read this book immediately. "So Began My Life as a Maltreated Lesbian Gigola" is my personal favorite. My lover, Ashley, and I read it to each other every night before busting out the whips, chains, and AV shock therapy treatments. It's done wonders for our sex life! I thoroughly recommend this book! Tremble, hetero swine! Rock on Chicago!

Early Embraces III is sweet all the way through. If you haven't yet had your first experience with a woman, you may appreciate this book. However, the sweetness becomes tedious after awhile, and all the stories have the same flavor- very, very, vanilla. If you're looking for more variety, try Penthouse. These stories make lesbian sex sound dull.
