5.0 out of 5 stars If You Like The Recorder, You'll Love This Gem, March 26, 2011

This review is from: Early Italian Recorder Music/English Consort Music (Audio CD)
This two-disc set is a gem. You get great musicians, many fascinating combination of harmonies, timbre and syncopation, and with the variety of recorders from soprano to bass, listening to the range of pieces gives you a new perspective on the instrument that every second grader tortures their parent(s) with. Most of us have done that, including me. This music is far from torture...on first hearing some of the pieces can be mistaken for organ pieces. The smoothness and musical rapport are evident among the players and the quality of playing, in my opinion, is exceptional. You can't go wrong with this purchase...I highly recommend it!
