4.0 out of 5 stars Good Text
I'm a returning college student and using this as a text for the study of the Tudor and Stuart reigns... it is concise and informal, with a definite sense of humor... debunks some of the myths relating to these reigns and definitely one of the more readable textbooks that I have come across... clear and consise..

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars Early Modern England
The work is well written [ a bit more details than usually required ] .......my version, much underlined by a previous reader............and lacked, in some respects, a narrative storyline. A good and important accompaniment for the Great Courses course of the same name!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Important Aspect of our Roots, October 18, 2009

I bought this book as a companion text for a Teaching Company course on the Tudors and Stuarts. To me both are superb. I am particularly interested in the foundational ideologies of the United States. The turmoil, political, social and religious discourse of the Tudor-Stuart period had great influence on the mindset and actions of our Founders.
The book is well written, accessible and meaningful to both amateur and professional scholars. The authors look at the "total history" of the period, including the lives of the common people as well as the maneuvering of the powerful elite.

The company did not lie when they said the book was "Like New." I was very impressed. As for the book itself, it is a very well written textbook and an excellent read for someone who is first learning about early modern england.

The book was new. It was in great condition and it was for a really greatprice. Even with shipping, the book cost at least 30% less than it does on my college campus. Sipping was fast as well so thank you so much.
