Finally... The Toddlers on CD!, March 23, 2003

I feel confident in saying that The Toddlers are the greatest folk-rock band ever to hail from Evansville, Indiana. These recordings are lo-fi, but they capture The Toddlers' unique sound and clever approach quite nicely. This CD collects the "best of" their songs from their three cassette-only D.I.Y. albums, plus a couple of nice new tracks. My only complaint is that "My Big Idea" and "For the Cows" don't appear... any chance that the rest of the back catalog might someday make it to digital format? At any rate, the songs that do appear are consistently well-done, with great, often humorous lyrics and memorable melodies. And I love that violin! I'm looking forward to the next CD, which I hear should be out soon.
