I've been a fan of Marillion since their first album. I almost waited too long to get this boxset. These discs give a very good listen to the early days of Marillion. Great sound, considering the time and equipment available then. Multiple versions of the same song show how some tunes evolve. "Fugazi" is to me what "Grendel" is to many others so it's neat to hear live versions of this song. Add the "Hotel Hobbies/Warm Wet Circles/That Time Of The Night" trilogy and this collection becomes a much welcomed addition to my Marillion collection.

This is a real gem for fans. Some fantastic versions of classic Marillion songs. Audio quality is great, especially for the pre-digital recording era. If you are a fan of Fish-era Marillion, this ia a no brainer!

First of all i have to say that I am a major fan of the Fish era Marillion. I play them constantly because they are so unique. When Fish left the band I was crestfallen. I followed Fish's solo career, rather than the Hogarth fronted version of the band. I have actually met Fish and had a few cocktails with him back on the Sunsets on Empire tour.
This collection of "bootleg" CDs are really very interesting...they don't sound like bootlegs at all. The sound and production are way beyond what i was expecting. To hear the development of songs like She Chamelion are a real eye-opener. and the strength of their more familiar songs is impressive.
Sure, this set is a little over-priced, but I take pride in owning it. and I recommend it to all the FREAKS. it's just spectacular.
