This Stanley fellow had a great love and respect for adventure (Dr. Livingston, I presume?) but also a very colorful way of talking (former newspaperman) who seemed not to know the difference between a real story and embellishment. I didn't expect that everything he wrote could be taken at face value, and of course, in reading, you have to remember that he slants with his viewpoint. But in all, this presents a very interesting portrait of the Congo in the late 1800s.
